Clarkson’s Farm star announces career move away from show

A Clarkson’s Farm fan favourite has revealed an exciting new venture outside of the hit Amazon Prime show — one that will let viewers see her life on the farm in a whole new way.

Since its launch in 2021, Clarkson’s Farm has become one of Prime Video’s biggest unscripted successes, chronicling the often chaotic, always entertaining journey of Jeremy Clarkson as he attempts to run his 1,000-acre farm in Chadlington, near Chipping Norton. Along the way, audiences have been introduced to a memorable cast of real-life characters who have become stars in their own right — from straight-talking farmhand Kaleb Cooper and patient land agent Charlie Ireland, to Jeremy’s partner Lisa Hogan and even the hard-to-decipher head of security, Gerald Cooper.

In the most recent series, viewers also met a new addition: Derbyshire-born young farmer Harriet Cowan, who joined the team while Kaleb was away on his book tour. Harriet quickly won over fans with her warmth, friendliness, and depth of agricultural knowledge. Many also noticed the natural rapport she built with Clarkson, offering both guidance and good humour in equal measure.

Now, Harriet is branching out with a project of her own. She has announced that she will be launching a YouTube channel titled “Harriet on the Farm”, which will officially debut on August 31. The channel promises to give audiences a more personal glimpse into her farming life, outside of the edited episodes of Clarkson’s Farm.

Her very first video will be a Q&A session, based on questions submitted by fans. Teasing what’s to come, Harriet hinted that the video may contain “some juicy details,” sparking speculation about whether she might reveal behind-the-scenes moments from the show or insights into her future plans.

Speaking about the decision to start the channel, Harriet admitted that farming has always been her true calling. “It’s true. I am no longer nursing because it appears I got the bug. The farming bug,” she explained. “And I’ve always had it, but before I didn’t really have any other incomes. A few months ago, I put out a video talking about me starting on YouTube. The general census was [to do it]. So the wait is over. Harriet on the Farm is coming your way on August 31.”

As for what viewers can expect beyond the launch, Harriet suggested the content will evolve naturally with the rhythm of farming life. “I haven’t quite worked out how I’m going to do vlogs,” she admitted. “I think it will all depend on what’s happening on the farm at that time, but for now the first video is going live on August 31.”

Meanwhile, filming for Series 5 of Clarkson’s Farm is already underway, though it remains uncertain whether Harriet will play a role in the upcoming season. Whether or not she returns to the screen alongside Clarkson and Kaleb, fans can now follow her journey directly through her new channel, where she’ll be sharing her own perspective on life in the fields.
