Jeremy Clarkson introduces newest family member to Diddly Squat Farm

Jeremy Clarkson warned Kaleb Cooper about fame

Jeremy Clarkson has delighted fans once again by unveiling the newest addition to his family at Diddly Squat Farm. The former Top Gear presenter, 65, took to Instagram to share a heartwarming photo of himself cradling a tiny Labrador puppy, revealing that the sweet pup is called Margarey.

The golden puppy is one of 11 in a litter recently born to Clarkson’s beloved dog Arya. The puppies arrived on July 27, a date that coincided with England’s Lionesses securing their second historic Euros title, giving the day even more cause for celebration. Margarey is believed to be around six weeks old and already proving a hit with Clarkson’s 9.5 million followers, many of whom flocked to the comments section to coo over the adorable snap.

This isn’t the first time Clarkson has updated fans on Arya’s journey into motherhood. Back in July, he posted a video showing the devoted dog nursing her litter, joking with fans: “Now I know you have all been enjoying the football. But I have been rather busy if I am honest. Look what Arya has done.” The clip quickly went viral, with fans praising the touching moment from the usually outspoken presenter.

Margarey’s arrival comes at a particularly eventful time for Clarkson. Just days earlier, his hit Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm scooped the award for Best Factual Entertainment Show at the National Television Awards. Speaking in the winners’ room, Clarkson admitted he was “genuinely thrilled” by the victory.

He added: “I’d like to think this is for farming, because it demonstrates that people who watch the show go, ‘bloody hell, farming’s difficult’, and have voted for this show.”

Since its launch in 2021, Clarkson’s Farm has become a global phenomenon, attracting millions of viewers who tune in to watch the former motoring journalist navigate the challenges of running his Chipping Norton estate. Fans have particularly warmed to Clarkson’s candid approach, which often highlights the daily struggles faced by farmers across the UK.

However, it hasn’t all been good news for the TV personality this summer. Just days after Arya’s litter was born, Clarkson revealed that Diddly Squat had been hit by a tuberculosis outbreak — a devastating blow for any farm.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Clarkson told fans: “Bad news from Diddly Squat. We’ve gone down with TB. Everyone here is absolutely devastated.”

The animal that tested positive for bovine TB was reportedly a cow pregnant with twin calves, making the news even more distressing. Bovine TB, caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium bovis, is a serious and infectious disease that can spread among cattle and other mammals, including deer, goats, pigs, cats, and even dogs. For farmers, the diagnosis often means strict testing regimes, culling, and significant financial loss.

Despite these setbacks, Clarkson has remained open with fans about both the highs and lows of farming life. The arrival of Margarey — along with the rest of Arya’s litter — has provided a much-needed burst of joy at Diddly Squat during what has otherwise been a challenging summer.

With Clarkson’s Farm continuing to thrive on Prime Video, and his candid updates on social media drawing millions of views, Clarkson has managed to strike a rare balance between global stardom and the grounded, unpredictable realities of farming.

And if Margarey’s online debut is anything to go by, fans can expect to see much more of the playful puppy in the months to come.
