Jeremy Clarkson’s co-star announces baby news amid rumours he’s leaving the show
Clarkson’s Farm favourite Kaleb Cooper has revealed that he and his fiancée Taya are expecting their third child, even as speculation swirls about his future on the hit Amazon Prime series.
The 26-year-old farm manager, who became a breakout star alongside Jeremy Clarkson at Diddly Squat Farm, shared the joyful family news on Instagram. Posting a touching black-and-white photograph of a baby scan alongside a tiny babygro marked with “2025”, Cooper confirmed that the couple’s newest addition is due in August.
“Very excited to announce that’s baby Cooper number 3 is cooking…. Going to be a very, very busy August,” he wrote, delighting his hundreds of thousands of followers.
Kaleb and Taya already share two children together — Oscar, two, and Willa Grace, one. The couple, who have been together since their teenage years in Chipping Norton, are now preparing for their growing family while balancing the demands of life on and off the farm.
The announcement comes at a time of uncertainty for Cooper’s role in Clarkson’s Farm. In recent weeks, the young farmer has fueled speculation that he may step back from the series. A cryptic Instagram post about the “future” hinted at potential changes ahead, sparking concern among fans.
“Crazy how time flies when you’re having fun… 2 years ago since I found out I was having a little girl. Can’t wait to see what the future holds,” he wrote, adding a winky face emoji that only deepened the mystery.
Jeremy Clarkson, however, was quick to praise his right-hand man. Writing in his Sunday Times column, the former Top Gear presenter lauded Kaleb’s extraordinary work ethic and business sense.
“He has an entrepreneurial mind that would put John Rockefeller to shame, and he knows more about cows than cows do,” Clarkson quipped. “He knows more about wheat than Isaac Newton knew about gravity, which means that in his field, he is as clever as Phil Foden is on a football pitch.”
Clarkson purchased Diddly Squat Farm in 2008 and began running it himself in 2019, leading to the launch of the hugely popular Amazon Prime documentary series. Kaleb, who has been farming since the age of 13, quickly established himself as both the brains and the brawn behind the operation, winning over viewers with his no-nonsense approach and exasperated put-downs of Clarkson’s farming mishaps.
But while his profile has risen, Cooper has been open about the challenges facing young farmers in Britain today. Speaking to The Telegraph last year, he admitted that spiraling land prices have so far prevented him from buying his own farm.
“Everything’s through the roof. And I don’t want to move away from the place I love most,” he said, describing the situation as “frustrating”.
Despite the obstacles, Kaleb has vowed to keep working towards his dream. “That’s why I’m so busy doing everything possible to get to that dream [of buying a farm],” he explained. “I’m going to do it one day.”
For now, though, Cooper is preparing for a busy summer with the arrival of baby number three — and fans will be watching closely to see whether he continues his journey on Clarkson’s Farm or strikes out on his own.
