Jeremy Clarkson Reveals Unexpected “Mounjaro Problem” After Dramatic Weight Loss
Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about an amusing but unexpected side effect following his impressive weight loss journey, admitting that his new slimmer frame has caused some rather awkward moments — especially at the airport.
The 65-year-old television presenter, best known for Clarkson’s Farm, Top Gear, and The Grand Tour, has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent months. After suffering heart pains that led to emergency surgery at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital last year, Clarkson committed to a healthier lifestyle — one that’s clearly paying off.
Living on his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, Clarkson has embraced a mix of farming life and medical support to help him lose weight. Earlier this year, he revealed that he had shed two stone, crediting part of his success to Mounjaro, a new weight loss injection that’s been praised for helping people manage blood sugar and appetite.
However, it seems Clarkson’s newfound slimness has come with its own set of challenges. Taking to Twitter/X this week, the outspoken farmer shared a candid — and humorous — post about what he called his “Mounjaro problem.”
“Mounjaro problem I never saw coming,” he wrote. “At airports you’re made to remove your belt and then told to stand in the body scanner with your arms in the air.
So you can’t hold your trousers up.”
Fans were quick to respond with laughter and sympathy, with many joking that it was “a small price to pay for good health.”
It’s not the first time Clarkson has had trouble keeping his trousers in place since his dramatic transformation. During the National Television Awards, where Clarkson’s Farm won the coveted Best Factual Entertainment Show, he made light of his new dilemma in front of a packed audience.
“I should explain — I’m on Mounjaro,” Clarkson said on stage, as partner Lisa Hogan helped him keep his trousers from slipping. “My trousers are falling down.”
Lisa, ever the supportive presence, held him steady as the presenter laughed off the moment. “Lisa’s going to hold my trousers up whilst I make a very short speech,” he quipped, to loud cheers and laughter from the crowd.
The Clarkson’s Farm star has spoken candidly about the toll that health scares have taken on him in recent years. Following his heart procedure, he has been determined to maintain better habits, reducing alcohol intake, eating healthier foods, and incorporating medication like Mounjaro to help control his appetite and blood sugar.
Clarkson’s openness about his weight loss and health has struck a chord with fans, many of whom have praised him for addressing serious health issues while keeping his trademark sense of humor intact.
For now, though, it seems the biggest challenge facing the outspoken presenter isn’t farming bureaucracy or mechanical breakdowns — it’s keeping his trousers up.
As one fan replied under his tweet:
“Maybe it’s time for Clarkson’s Belt Farm. You could grow your own suspenders next season.”
Jeremy Clarkson, never one to shy away from poking fun at himself, simply responded with his usual wit — proving once again that even in the face of wardrobe malfunctions, he remains Britain’s most entertaining farmer.
