clarkson's farm

The TV star reflects on being “broken” as he navigates a pivotal change at his Cotswolds property.

Jeremy Clarkson, the outspoken presenter and farmer, has revealed that he is feeling “broken” as he confronts yet another challenge at his Oxfordshire farm in the Cotswolds.

🏡 Life at Diddly Squat Farm

Clarkson has owned Diddly Squat Farm—formerly known as Curdle Hill Farm—since 2008. Nestled in the picturesque village of Chadlington near Chipping Norton, the farm has become a household name thanks to the hit Prime Video documentary Clarkson’s Farm. The series, now four seasons strong with a fifth on the way, has chronicled Clarkson’s often chaotic but always entertaining journey into agriculture, capturing both the triumphs and the frustrations of modern farming.

⚙️ The Supacat Struggle

Recently, Clarkson has been grappling with a practical problem that highlights the realities of farming life. For years, he relied on his Supacat, a six-wheel-drive military vehicle originally designed to recover broken Land Rovers from battlefields. The rugged machine has been his trusted companion for venturing deep into the woodland to collect timber.

However, at 65 years old, Clarkson admits that climbing in and out of the Supacat has become increasingly difficult. Writing in his latest Sunday Times column, he confessed:

“It is quite difficult to get in and out of, if you are old and broken.”

The remark underscores both his affection for the machine and his recognition that age and practicality now demand a change.

🚙 A New Arrival: CFMoto UForce U10 Pro

Despite his fondness for the £9,000 Supacat, Clarkson has decided to replace it. After considering several alternatives, he has chosen the CFMoto UForce U10 Pro, a petrol-powered utility vehicle that offers far greater comfort and accessibility.

The new machine has already proven itself on the farm. Clarkson praised its performance, saying:

“It has been on the farm for a couple of months now and I must say it’s very practical, very robust and extremely useful.”

🐶 Four-Legged Approval

Interestingly, Clarkson isn’t the only one who has embraced the new vehicle. His dogs have quickly claimed it as their own. On the very first day, they leapt into the pick-up bed and, according to Clarkson, have “pretty much refused to get out” ever since. Their enthusiasm adds a touch of humor to the transition, showing that even the farm’s animals appreciate the upgrade.

📺 Clarkson’s Journey Continues

This latest decision is just another chapter in Clarkson’s evolving life as a farmer. From battling weather conditions and bureaucratic red tape to experimenting with crops and livestock, his journey has been anything but straightforward. Yet it is precisely these challenges—and his candid, often self-deprecating reflections—that have made Clarkson’s Farm such a success with audiences worldwide.

As he swaps military-grade machinery for a more practical farm utility vehicle, Clarkson’s story continues to highlight the realities of farming in Britain: the compromises, the adaptations, and the humor that keeps it all bearable.
