Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz announce bold expansion for their family farm
ITV’s Fletchers’ Family Farm captures the life of former Emmerdale star Kelvin and his wife and children in the Peak District
The sprawling family farm run by former soap star and Strictly star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz is already the focus of a TV documentary.
But now it’s set to welcome a host of guests as the 120-acre farm in the beautiful Peak District is open for wedding bookings.
The third series of former Emmerdale actor Kelvin’s family escapades on the popular ITV show Fletchers’ Family Farm is currently gracing our screens, having kicked off last month. If you fancy making the farm the backdrop for your nuptials, the couple are offering two options – a barn wedding or a blessing ceremony “surrounded by the magical woodland”.
According to the farm’s website: “Fletchers Farm is now open as a wedding venue! We’re offering two different services to help couples celebrate their special day.
“The first option is a barn wedding in the function barn situated beneath the coffee shop. The barn is a flexible space with rustic character aplenty and offers an opportunity for a magical day of celebrating without the hefty financial burden.”, reports Cheshire Live.
It continues: “The second option is a woodland blessing ceremony set away in the countryside fields beneath both Roseberry Topping and Captain Cooks Monument. Situated near the fishing lake, and surrounded by the magical woodland, our venue won’t be beaten for its picturesque location.
“The enchanted woodland walk offers couples the chance to host a blessing ceremony on site.”
Appointments can be booked via the website.
The news comes amid worrying health update in the latest instalment of Fletchers’ Family Farm, which aired on Sunday, November 23 when the extent of the actor’s injuries sustained during a charity rugby match were laid bare.
The star had signed up to play alongside professional athletes Gareth Ellis, Mark Flanagan and Danny McGuire in aid of the David Lewis Centre, a charity supporting individuals with complex needs.
The soap star had initially been benched, but was later shown in the game being tackled. He admitted at the time: “I’m hoping, fingers crossed, I’ve not, but it feels like I’ve torn my bicep.”
In the latest update given to viewers, he revealed a scan had now confirmed that he was indeed suffering from a torn bicep, rendering him unable to see through his commitments on the farm.
“I need to find a potential understudy,” he remarked on the programme as he weighed up whether he could still show his Lincoln Red cows at the Royal Cheshire Show.
Turning to wife Liz, he said: “My arm is killing me still. My arm’s really sore and I’m just thinking whether it’s best you taking them. You’ll be fine.” He added: “Let’s just see, but just on standby. How do you feel about that?”
Liz, clearly unimpressed replied: “Well not great, obviously,” as Kelvin reassured her that “despite the adversity, despite the hiccups we’re still going to go.”
