Jeremy Clarkson Breaks His Silence With a Personal Health Update After Hospital Visit

Jeremy Clarkson has shared a rare and candid update on his health, offering fresh insight into his recovery after being rushed to hospital last year.

The former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter, who now lives on a 1,000-acre farm near Chipping Norton in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, previously revealed that he underwent emergency heart surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after experiencing chest pains. The procedure, which involved the fitting of heart stents, prompted a significant reassessment of his lifestyle.

Since the operation, Clarkson has adopted a healthier diet and altered his daily habits, changes which he says have led to a noticeable transformation. Speaking in a new interview with ITV while promoting his latest television project, Millionaire Hot Seat, the 65-year-old confirmed that he has lost a substantial amount of weight over recent months.

“Three stone since January,” Clarkson said, explaining that the changes came not from cutting out everything he enjoys, but from becoming more mindful of his eating habits. While he admitted he still allows himself the occasional curry, he said he now avoids snacking, which he described as something that used to “fill you up” without you realising.

According to Clarkson, the physical benefits of the weight loss have been immediate and encouraging. He told ITV that he feels more energetic and capable than he has in years, crediting both the lifestyle changes and the success of his heart treatment.

“Yes, I walk further, I have got more energy, and now I’ve got my stents in, I’m energised,” he said.

Despite the health scare, Clarkson made clear that slowing down is not part of his plan. He dismissed any suggestion of stepping away from work, saying that a quieter life would not suit him. “I would rot without work,” he added, underlining his determination to remain active both professionally and personally.

In addition to Millionaire Hot Seat, Clarkson is set to return to Prime Video in 2026 with a fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm. Filming for the upcoming season wrapped in September, and the show is expected to continue documenting the realities of running Diddly Squat Farm, alongside the challenges facing British agriculture more broadly.

For Clarkson, the past year has marked a turning point. While the health scare forced him to confront his limits, he insists it has also given him renewed energy — and little intention of easing off anytime soon.
