Jeremy Clarkson admits rare moment of concern as he pauses filming for the first time in four decades

The Clarkson’s Farm star admitted he is “frightened” in a career update

Jeremy Clarkson has admitted he’s “genuinely frightened” to stop filming for a few months, after the success of his Amazon Prime Video series, Clarkson’s Farm.

The 65-year-old presenter has become a staple on our screens with the likes of Top Gear and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and gained a whole new legion of fans with the farming series when it launched in 2021.

With the help of Kaleb Cooper, he’s shown the chaos of running his Diddly Squat farm in Oxfordshire, showcasing the highs and lows of the profession and advocating for farmers across the country.

After opening his farm shop and pub last year, Clarkson has been open about the “disasters” he’s faced, including his own health setbacks and the heartbreak he faced after a deadly outbreak of bovine tuberculosis hit his farm.

With a fifth series yet to air, which is expected to hit screens next Spring, Clarkson and his farming co-stars are set to take a break.

He previously revealed plans for after the fifth season, saying: “Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out. We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.”

However, he’s now admitted how terrified he is to stop filming, ahead of upcoming ITV quiz show, Millionaire Hot Seat.

Following the Australian series, the twist on the classic format sees six contestants in a rotating “hot seat”, who must climb a money ladder by answering questions correctly.

When asked why he still works in a press release ahead of the new show launching next month, Clarkson confessed: “You would rot if you didn’t. I’m genuinely frightened because until March, I won’t be filming a TV show for the first time in forty years. That will be three months of ‘sh*t’.”

Clarkson also shared a health update, after sharing in October 2024 that he was “days from death” following a terrifying scare during a holiday, which resulted in him being rushed to surgery and having a life-saving stent fitted.

Revealing he has lost three stone since January, he shared: “I still really look forward to going out to eat, but I am very careful not to snack on biscuits or anything like that too as that fills you up. I’m looking forward to going out tonight and having a curry.”

He added that he feels better after losing weight, saying: “I walk further, I have got more energy and now I’ve got my stents in, I’m energised.”
