Kelvin and Liz Fletcher face difficult choice as they share latest update from the farm
Emmerdale Andy Sugden star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz Fletcher have welcomed a new bull calf to their farm and shared his adorable name with their four children
ITV stars Kelvin and Liz Fletcher have delivered some thrilling news to their children.
The couple, who are parents to Marnie, Milo, Maximus and Mateusz, faced a challenging decision during Sunday’s (December 14) episode of Fletchers’ Family Farm.
After welcoming an adorable bull calf to the farm, the family were keen to christen him with a name.
Milo and Mateusz both favoured Wolf King, whilst Marnie opted for Oliver, Maximus selected Spin and Liz plumped for Barry.
Having heard their suggestions, Kelvin explained that all newborn calves must be formally registered and, for this particular breed, the Lincoln Red Cattle Society recommends which letter names should start with each year, reports the Mirror.
Upon discovering that 2025 is designated as the year of the letter E, Liz proposed they call him Ezra after Kelvin confessed the only name that came to mind was “Emmerdale”, the ITV soap where he portrayed Andy Sugden for two decades.
Kelvin and Liz subsequently delivered the delightful news to the children that the calf would officially be named Ezra, and the choice proved popular with the youngsters, with Marnie spearheading a family sing-along of pop sensation George Ezra’s chart-topper Green Green Grass.
This follows the announcement that the family has secured another fresh programme called Fletchers’ Country Workshop.
The reveal came from Daisybeck Studios, the production house behind the ITV series Fletchers’ Family Farm, through their official Instagram page. Accompanied by a glowing photograph of Liz, the announcement declared: “Big news! We’re super excited to show you something new that’s coming next week.
“With an ever-growing passion for interiors and upcycling, Liz and the rest of the Fletcher family have been working hard to craft, make, and create something special on the farm this Christmas. And of course, we’ve been there every step of the way. Keep your eyes peeled, and all will be revealed very soon.”
In a follow-up post, the production company disclosed the major surprise, announcing: “NEW EPISODE REVEAL. Introducing FLETCHERS’ COUNTRY WORKSHOP – a festive special that follows Liz and the family as they roll up their sleeves and dive into designing, making, crafting, and full-on DIY.”
The description went on: “This episode joins Liz on her mission to transform their old stable block into a fabulous festive venue, fit for a Christmas party for friends and family. With a huge space to fill and even bigger ideas, it’s all hands-on deck to help Liz create the perfect party space.
“Catch the magic on Sunday 14th December – an hour of creativity, Christmas spirit and heart-warming family teamwork!”.
Liz and Kelvin have been delighting fans with sneak peeks of their forthcoming show by sharing previews from their latest project. The entire Fletcher family will feature in the ITV Christmas special, with Liz’s father also set to make a cameo appearance.
