Jeremy Clarkson’s Health Crisis Puts Diddly Squat’s Future in Doubt

Jeremy Clarkson has shared his fears for his beloved Diddly Squat farm.

Jeremy Clarkson has shared his fears for farming as he opened up about his struggles on Diddly Squat Farm after the government U-turned on the family farm tax, raising the threshold when the tax becomes payable from £1 million to £ 2.5 million. Clarkson wrote in his column for The Sun: “Let’s not forget that half of all farms in the UK will still be hit”, as he said that farms will be snapped up by hedge-funders and “City types” who have no clue about farming.

He added: “Farming’s hard, and unless you start at the age of three, you won’t be able to do it very well. I know this from personal experience. So the new higher tax threshold will still destroy the countryside. It’ll affect the country’s ability to feed itself.”

He added: “And there are still thousands of farmers out there who are having to deal with the stress of knowing that they cannot pass their farm on to the only people who know how to run it. Their children. And the big question is, why have the tax at all?” as he questioned why the government was even bothering to have the tax at all, vowing: “The fight goes on.”

This comes after Clarkson opened up about his remarkable weight loss journey, disclosing that he’s shed three stone since January through injections.

The broadcaster has revealed he now walks substantially more, sleeps better, and feels thoroughly “energised” after the treatment and having stents fitted

In a recent interview promoting his forthcoming quiz programme Millionaire Hot Seat, Jeremy informed ITV that whilst he still treats himself to a curry, he’s eliminated snacking, which he acknowledges used to “fill you up” without you realising.

Jeremy described feeling noticeably healthier and more vigorous as a result of his transformation. “Yes I walk further, I have got more energy and now I’ve got my stents in, I’m energised,” he disclosed, reports the Mirror.

This isn’t the first occasion Jeremy has discussed his weight-loss transformation and how it has affected his life. Following emergency heart surgery in late 2024, he was inspired to implement substantial lifestyle modifications for his wellbeing.

The 65 year old presenter has no plans to slow down, maintaining that without work, he would simply “rot”. The Grand Tour star made these comments as ITV confirmed he’ll be presenting Millionaire Hot Seat, a fast-paced variation of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? launching in January 2026, reports Gloucestershire Live.

The programme is billed as a “tactical twist” on the classic format, with six participants competing for the prime position in a rotating chair arrangement. Only the contestant in the “hot seat” can answer questions, although they have the option to pass, which sends them to the back of the queue.

A wrong answer results in elimination and decreases the potential prize money.

“It’s a very expensive game of musical chairs,” Jeremy remarked. “You can be the most brilliant player and go home with nothing or you can be useless, and go home with the prize.”
