The gold rush is in full swing this season, with gold prices hitting an all-time high of $3,500 per ounce. In what has already been a record-breaking year, Tony Beets and Parker Schnabel are taking full advantage of the soaring prices as they race to meet their ambitious gold targets.
At Tony Beets’ Indian River operation, the veteran miner is making a strong push, already banking 775 ounces of his 6,500-ounce goal after just five weeks of sluicing. “Gold prices are through the roof, so now is the time to get the gold in the box,” Beets said, as he and his crew worked tirelessly to meet their target.
Meanwhile, Parker Schnabel is also making strides, with his team averaging 273.9 ounces in the past week alone, worth nearly $1 million. Schnabel is betting on the Golden Mile and his new sulfur cut, where the potential for high gold yields is strong. In a promising turn, Parker reported that his gamble to chase gold left behind by the old-timers is paying off, yielding over 500 ounces in just one week, worth more than $1.8 million.
Tony Beets’ operation has been humming along, even as the crew dealt with setbacks like a flooded cut and a cracked screen deck. Despite these hurdles, Beets is on track to meet his target, having already banked 774 ounces, a solid start to the season. The early bird cut at Indian River delivered 214 ounces, bringing Beets’ total to 632 ounces, nearly a tenth of his season goal.
In the race to find more gold, both Beets and Schnabel are working non-stop, facing challenges but also reaping big rewards from their gold-mining operations. “We got to stay ahead of the game,” Beets said, as he reflected on his progress so far. “This season’s off to a great start.”
Schnabel’s team is also seeing success as they work their way through various mining cuts, including the Golden Mile and the Bridge Cut. In total, Schnabel’s crew has now mined 1,235 ounces, already exceeding their previous season’s total by over 100 ounces at this point in the year.
The surge in gold prices has created a unique opportunity for these mining giants, who are already raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars in gold each week. As the season continues, the pressure to meet their targets will only increase, but for now, both Beets and Schnabel are riding high on their success, with plenty of gold to show for it.
With gold prices at an all-time high, both operations are positioned to make significant gains this season. However, both Tony Beets and Parker Schnabel know that the work is far from over. As they continue to sluice and dig their way to gold, only time will tell how much more they can extract from the rich Klondike grounds.
