What It’s Really Like to Work at Clarkson’s Farm: Staff Open Up About the Experience
Staff at Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm Shop opened up about working there.
Staff members at Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm Shop have shared their thoughts about working in the store as they reacted to the news that the store will be open throughout January and February, breaking with tradition. The farm usually undergoes maintenance during this period, but due to exceptionally high demand in late 2025 and going into early 2026, they announced they would stay open during the first two months of 2026 for the first time ever.
Taking to Instagram, they polled their staff about their thoughts, and they all seemed delighted with the news. “I can’t wait because the shop’s gonna be open and I’ll get more money as well,” one said. “I think it’s really good because it means I don’t lose any money,” another added. “Good. Really good. It’s great because I get more shifts,” a third chimed in. Meanwhile, a fourth declared: “Really good. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known what to do with myself for two months. I like working.”
Fans of the shop were delighted to learn the staff are happy and took to the comments to praise the hardworking team.
“Your team are amazing, so welcoming and friendly,” one wrote. “Came here on the 2nd January and the staff were really lovely considering how busy they were working,” another added.
A third simply penned: “Excellent,” followed by applause emojis. Meanwhile, a fourth quipped: “It’s almost like you are having a positive impact on the economy, especially for young people. Council better put a stop to that right quick!”
While it is business as usual at the shop, they have issued a warning to those intending to visit, indicating that the conditions may be somewhat muddy.
Writing on their Instagram, they said: “This is the first year we’ll be open in January and February. Don’t bother washing your car before you come, don’t wear white trainers and wrap up warm. You’ve been warned.”
The staff have been very busy right through the recent festive season as the store barely closed, giving them little time off.
They opened on Christmas Eve until 2pm, and closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The usual hours of business, which will apply throughout January and February, are Tuesday–Sunday, 9.30am to 4.30pm.
