Jeremy Clarkson Overlooked as Reform Leader Nigel Farage Makes His Position Clear
Jeremy Clarkson has been snubbed by Nigel Farage in a brutal dig at the former Top Gear host.
The 65-year-old Clarkson’s Farm star criticised Reform and its leader, the MP for Clacton, in his column for The Sun over the weekend.
Mr Clarkson’s Saturday’s piece was titled: “Do you know what Reform’s policies are? Neither do I… So here’s why voting for Farage won’t solve any of your problems”.
In it, the former Grand Tour host predicted that those who vote Reform at the next general election will be “sorely disappointed”, adding that Mr Farage will find it “extremely difficult” when it comes to tackling immigration.
Responding to this, Mr Farage told TalkTV: “Hello, Jeremy, I’ve not been to your pub yet. I trust I’m not banned along with all the Labour MPs.
“Actually, what he’s saying is wrong. Wrong.
“We’ve been unveiling new names, new faces, policies for the last six or eight months. Actually, in considerable quantity.
“The trouble is he’s surrounded by the Chipping Norton set. The sort of Cameron set and New Labour, and no doubt they’re feeding the stuff into his ear.”
Mr Clarkson lives in Chipping Norton on a 1,000 acre farm he purchased in 2008, named Diddly Squat farm.
Mr Farage added: “Look, he’s very, very busy doing his farming and other things.
“And by the way, I think what he’s done for farming is fantastic. He’s woken the country up to how difficult actually being a farmer is.
“So I can tell you, Jeremy, there’s a constructive plan for pubs that also cuts the welfare bill.
“I’m sure he will approve thoroughly of that, and you can tell him we’re working very, very hard on a proper agricultural policy as well. So I think perhaps he’s been reassured. Just spend less time with David Cameron.”
Former Prime Minister and Witney MP Mr Cameron lives in Dean, a village close to Mr Clarkson’s farm and the pair are known to be friends.
Mr Clarkson’s column added: “The electorate will say that they’ve tried the Tories and they’ve tried Labour and they’ve tried Reform and that nothing ever changes.
“And when you’re out of reasonable options, that’s when people start going for options that aren’t reasonable at all.
“And that’s when you end up with an orange man at the helm.”
