Jeremy Clarkson closes down farm and stops filming after virus outbreak

Jeremy Clarkson has been forced to halt filming on Amazon Prime’s Clarkson’s Farm due to relentless rain and a TB lockdown at Diddly Squat, while revealing the farm won’t make money on wheat and barley this year

Jeremy Clarkson has given fans a concerning update about his Diddly Squat farm after making a significant investment. Writing in his Sunday Times column, Clarkson disclosed that he’s dipping his toes into the world of hops, investing millions to support hop farmers.

His Hawkstone brewery is purchasing produce from Charles Faram Farms, the UK’s leading hop farming collective, providing farmers with financial security amidst “a lack of government direction or help”, as per Clarkson. The TV personality considered cultivating hops on his own land, but found it unsuitable, writing: “Ideally, you need deep, fertile soil and protection from the wind. I’m 1,000 feet up in the Cotswolds, where conditions unfortunately aren’t right.”

He added: “We have got a very problematic year coming up. We know for a fact we won’t make money on wheat and barley. And we’re still closed down with TB [cattle tuberculosis].”

This worrying revelation follows his recent admission that filming for his Amazon Prime series, Clarkson’s Farm, has been put on hold due to weather conditions. He stated last week: “On the face of it, I’m a busy man. I have a television show to make about the farm I run.

“I have a brewery, a shop and a pub, and I host Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and its new spin-off series, and I write three newspaper columns every week. I’m therefore a one-man blizzard of productivity and action. A human whirlwind.”, reports the Express.

“Except I’m not. There’s no filming happening on the farm at the moment. Or farming. It hasn’t stopped raining since the beginning of the year, so I can’t plant anything, and I can’t do anything with my cows either because we are still locked down by TB.”

However, he seemingly confirmed that his series is running on schedule during a social media interaction with a fan. The fan queried: “Can you please clarify when the new series of the farm is starting?”My son is doing my head in asking.

Like I f****** know. Did he keep the pups? I don’t know.”

To which Clarkson responded: “May. I think. It’s not up to me.”
