Jeremy Clarkson takes aim at popular fan account on Twitter
Jeremy Clarkson has strongly criticized a fan account of his hit show Clarkson’s Farm for sharing a disturbing AI-generated video that depicts him engaging in a violent altercation with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The video, which has sparked widespread backlash, shows Clarkson throwing the Prime Minister out of his pub before violently beating him up. This video, still circulating on X (formerly Twitter), was shared by the fan account ClarksonsFarm1, which, despite its name, has no official connection to Clarkson or the Clarkson’s Farm series on Amazon Prime.
The controversial post has raised serious concerns, particularly among political figures. Labour MP Chris Bryant was one of the first to condemn the video, calling for its removal. Bryant, who has lost two colleagues to violence during his time in Parliament, stressed the importance of freedom of speech but added that such content, which glorifies violence, should not be tolerated. He tweeted: “Come on @ClarksonsFarm1 take it down. I’m all for freedom of speech but not inciting or glorifying violence.”
In response to the post, Clarkson himself labeled the account that shared the video as a “menace” and expressed his frustration that the account had blocked him. Clarkson took to social media to share his displeasure, saying, “That site is a menace. And they’ve blocked me.”
The account, ClarksonsFarm1, has yet to respond to calls for the video’s removal, despite the mounting criticism. Political commentator Don McGowan also weighed in on the matter, criticizing the video as both “disgusting” and inappropriate. “It’s not funny and glorifies violence,” McGowan said, highlighting the sensitivity of the issue, especially considering the growing number of attacks on politicians in the UK. “In a time where our country is seeing violence when MPs speak (see Hannah Spencer last weekend), this pretend fight with the Prime Minister should be removed immediately.”
The response from the public has been swift and largely negative. TalkTV host Mark Dolan condemned the video as “appalling” and “deeply wrong,” regardless of one’s political views on the Prime Minister. “Whatever you think of the Prime Minister, this is simply not acceptable,” Dolan remarked.
The situation has raised eyebrows on social media, with users commenting on the bizarre irony of the fan account blocking the very person they claim to support. One user sarcastically remarked, “A fan account blocked the person it’s a fan of,” while another suggested legal action, saying, “Sue them. They’re making money out of ruining your reputation and brand.”
As the video continues to circulate, it remains to be seen whether the fan account will remove the content, or if further action will be taken to address the growing backlash.
