ITV confirm seventh Who Wants To Be A Millionaire winner in ‘most dramatic series yet’
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? returns to ITV this month with at least one contestant winning the jackpot prize
ITV has revealed that audiences can expect one of the most exciting series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? to date.
The legendary quiz programme returns this month with at least one participant claiming the £1 million jackpot.
It has been disclosed that two contestants reach the final £1 million question, positioning them merely one correct answer away from securing the programme’s ultimate prize and a life-altering amount of money.
Claiming £1 million on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? remains an extraordinarily uncommon feat, with just six participants in the programme’s UK history having secured the top prize and only one victor since Jeremy Clarkson took over as presenter.
The drama continues, with one participant spectacularly forfeiting £186,000 in a single instant, representing one of the largest losses in the programme’s history, making Series 36 amongst the most gripping instalments the show has produced in recent years, reports the Daily Star.
Presented by Jeremy Clarkson, the edge-of-your-seat new series will witness participants once more attempting to ascend the renowned Million Pound Money Ladder, utilising their lifelines – Ask the Audience, 50:50, Ask the Host and Phone a Friend – in pursuit of life-transforming winnings.
While information regarding the participants and their performance remains closely guarded, audiences will be left questioning whether one or multiple contestants will enter the exclusive circle of participants who have claimed the prized £1 million prize in the programme’s UK history. Discussing the forthcoming series, Jeremy remarked: “I think this might be my favourite series so far.
“There are some properly nail-biting moments and seeing two contestants get to the £1 million question was extraordinary.
“When they’re sitting there on that final question, the tension in the studio is incredible, you can really feel it. I can’t wait for people to watch it.”
Jeremy assumed presenting duties for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in May 2018.
He stepped in for a refreshed series marking the programme’s 20th anniversary, succeeding original presenter Chris Tarrant.
The latest run commences with a compelling opening instalment that establishes the atmosphere for a series brimming with suspense, crucial decisions and memorable sequences.
