Celebrities rally around Jeremy Clarkson after shocking prostate cancer diagnosis

Celebrities have rallied around Jeremy Clarkson after it was revealed on Clarkson’s Farm that he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

The 66-year-old broke the news during the latest series of his hit Amazon show, filmed at Diddly Squat Farm near Chipping Norton in West Oxfordshire.

In one emotional scene, Mr Clarkson quietly told farm manager Kaleb Cooper and land agent Charlie Ireland: “I’ve got cancer”.

He explained that the disease had been caught early, but described the treatment as intense and, at times, difficult.

I was surprised when Jeremy Clarkson texted me on Boxing Day to say how much he liked my @paddypower ad urging men to get tested for prostate cancer. Now I understand.
I wish my old sparring partner all the best with his treatment. Guys, have a PSA test, it may save your life.

He went on to say that around “10 per cent” of his prostate was affected and that some of the treatment had “gone a bit awry”, prompting concern from viewers and prompting health charities to urge men to get checked.

Among those publicly wishing him well was his long‑time rival Piers Morgan, who revealed that Mr Clarkson had privately praised his recent prostate cancer awareness advert.

In a post shared on social media alongside a picture of the pair together, Mr Morgan wrote: “I was surprised when Jeremy Clarkson texted me on Boxing Day, a few days after this pic was taken, to say how much he liked my Paddy Power ad urging men to get tested for prostate cancer.

“Now I understand. I wish my old sparring partner all the best with his treatment. Guys, have a PSA test; it may save your life.”

Former prime minister Rishi Sunak also issued a message of support, saying: “Very sorry to hear this.

“Wishing Jeremy Clarkson a full and speedy recovery. Prostate cancer affects far too many men, and early diagnosis can make all the difference.”

Mr Clarkson’s partner Lisa Hogan thanked fans and supporters after the diagnosis became public, sharing a picture of him back at the farm and writing: “Thanks for all the support today, Prostate Cancer UK.”

The fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm has now been completely released on Prime Video with eight new episodes to watch.
