Daniel’s Moonshining Journey
Daniel Manerjoined Moonshiners during Season 7, debuting in Episode 11 in 2017. Recruited by old friend Mike Cockrell, Maner returned to moonshining after some time away, bringing with him years of inherited expertise. A welder, fabricator, and expert mechanic by trade, Maner’s skills were in high demand — particularly when high-volume production was needed.

When Maner suffered a serious back injury in Season 9, limiting his ability to work, Mark Ramsey and Eric “Digger” Manes — respected veteran moonshiners — stepped in to help. They gifted him several boxes of moonshine to sell and support his recovery. In contrast, Cockrell, his former partner, failed to check in or offer assistance, a betrayal that left a lasting impact.
Later, when Cockrell approached Maner with a lucrative moonshine opportunity, Maner declined, choosing instead to join forces with Mark and Digger — a partnership based on trust and mutual respect.

Maner’s talents earned him a spot on Moonshiners: Master Distiller, a Discovery Channel spin-off focusing on legal craft distilling. The series shifted away from clandestine activities, highlighting the artistry, science, and competition among top distillers.
In Season 3, Maner faced off against Josh Owens and Mike Cockrell in a high-stakes competition judged by veteran moonshiners and guest judge Danielle Parton. In a thrilling episode, Maner won the family recipe contest, honoring his ancestors’ legacy and cementing his place among the show’s most respected stars.
He continued to compete in Master Distiller: Tournament of Champions in 2022, further showcasing his expertise against the industry’s titans, including Mark, Digger, and Tim Smith.

Away from the stills, Maner lives a quieter life. Married to Kimberly Patrick since June 1999, the couple shares two children, Dalton and Skyler. Daniel works as a mechanic and welder at Blalock Companies in Sevierville, Tennessee.
