Tyler Mahoney Announces Price Increase on Gold Subscription Boxes: “I Can’t Keep Absorbing the Costs”

Kalgoorlie, Australia — Gold prospector and reality TV star Tyler Mahoney has announced a price increase for her popular monthly gold subscription boxes, citing rising operational costs and the growth of her business.

“I’ve put this off as long as I can, but I just can’t do it anymore,” Mahoney explained in a video message shared with her followers. “We’re increasing the rate from spot plus 15% to spot plus 18%. It’s only a 3% jump, but I know even small changes matter.”

According to Mahoney, the increase means customers will receive approximately 1.1 grams less gold at current market prices, though the value remains the same — subscribers will still get $200, $300, $500, or $600 worth of gold, depending on their chosen tier.

Tyler emphasized that the subscription remains the most affordable way to access natural gold nuggets from her company. “We sell our gold drops at spot plus 30%. So even at 18%, this is still the cheapest way to get our gold,” she said. “Yes, you could go to a mint or buy scrap gold, but we’re offering natural Australian gold nuggets — and that comes with a service.”

Mahoney also gave fans an inside look into the intensive monthly process: sourcing the gold from across the country, soaking it in acid, printing labels and customs forms, weighing each nugget, and hand-packing over 800 orders into display boxes and shipping satchels. “It takes us an entire month, every single time,” she said.

As the business has grown, so has the team — and the costs. “When we started, Tina and I packed every order ourselves. Now we have staff. We also pay merchant fees of 1–3% on every transaction,” she added. “This small increase should help us stay sustainable and keep delivering quality.”

Addressing potential criticism, Mahoney was upfront. “Please don’t comment saying it’s a rip-off. Show me another dealer offering natural nuggets at spot plus 18%. You could try to buy directly from prospectors — fly to Kalgoorlie, go to a pub, meet one — but most people can’t or don’t want to do that.”
