Parker Schnabel Teams Up With Aussie Gold Prospector Tyler Mahoney for High-Stakes Mining Adventure

In an ambitious cross-continental collaboration, renowned Yukon gold miner Parker Schnabel is teaming up with Australia’s fourth-generation prospector Tyler Mahoney to explore new gold frontiers Down Under.

Parker, known for his relentless pursuit of gold on Discovery Channel’s Gold Rush, reached out to Tyler through her father, hoping to tap into her local expertise and extensive contacts within Western Australia’s booming gold fields.

“We’re planning on making a trip over to Australia and need a good local guide,” Parker explained. “Tyler seems exactly like the type of person we need to help us get onto the best ground.”

Tyler, who runs her own gold prospecting business and trains miners across Australia, wasted no time accepting the offer. She says she’s keen to show Parker the unique challenges of mining in Australia’s harsh outback.

“Where we’re mining in WA, it’s bone dry. So we do dry blowing — like a wet plant, but no water,” Tyler told Parker during an initial meeting at his Yukon claim.

While Parker is used to freezing Yukon temperatures, Tyler warned him to prepare for blistering heat, venomous wildlife, and the rugged social culture of Australia’s remote bush towns.

“When you come to Australia and you’re out back, lift the toilet seat up — there might be a funnel-web spider under there that can kill you,” she laughed.

The pair quickly struck a deal that if Tyler can secure promising ground for Parker’s team, she’ll earn a spotter’s fee — an agreement built on mutual trust and straightforward communication.

To mark their new partnership, Tyler joined Parker and his crew at a Dawson City watering hole where she was initiated with the infamous Sour Toe Cocktail — a Yukon tradition involving a preserved human toe dropped into a shot of liquor.

“First impression of Tyler is that she’s basically the girl version of Parker,” one crew member said after the ceremony. “She’s smart, tough, and she loves gold.”

With plans to tackle gold-rich but remote areas like Hall’s Creek — nicknamed “Hell’s Crack” for its punishing heat — the team is bracing for one of their toughest seasons yet.

“I don’t think they realize how hot it gets,” Tyler chuckled. “But I love the red dirt, I love the bush — and I love gold.”

As Parker’s operation expands from the Yukon to the Australian outback, both miners are banking on this partnership to strike gold on both sides of the globe — and maybe redefine what it means to be young, ambitious, and unstoppable in one of the world’s oldest trades.
