Jeremy Clarkson issues update as Clarkson’s Farm season five filming interrupted

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that filming for season five of Clarkson’s Farm has been brought to a halt after an unwelcome interruption was spotted on Diddly Squat farm

Jeremy Clarkson has been forced to put a temporary halt to the filming of the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm.

The 65 years old former Top Gear host, who has been documenting his farming journey in Oxfordshire on the Amazon Prime series since its debut in 2021, shared an update with his followers.

Throughout the series, he has encountered numerous challenges on his Diddly Squat farm, learned from farmhand Kaleb Cooper, and melted hearts with the animals on his property.

Jeremy has also faced “disasters” while managing a farm shop and his on-site pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

However, he has now disclosed that production for the upcoming season has been temporarily suspended due to unexpected events, reports Gloucestershire Live.

On Instagram, he posted a flight map screenshot to show his audience that an unanticipated aircraft had flown into the airspace above his farm.

His farm is located in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, in the picturesque Cotswolds, and the plane seemed to have circled around Clarkson’s land before continuing on its path.

The aircraft had traversed nearby locales such as Charlbury, Woodstock, and Stonesfield, seemingly heading westward towards Kingham.

In his post, Jeremy remarked: “Definitely don’t mind having to stop filming while this flies over.”

Fans reacted with humour, with one referencing Jeremy’s ex-Top Gear colleague Richard Hammond: “Is Richard strapped on top of it?”

Another fan expressed curiosity about the noise level of the aircraft, commenting: “I’ve always been curious about how loud these things are, in a practical sense…”

Viewers of the programme were left in stitches when someone remarked, “Why would you stop filming! Get the Spitfire in the show!!”, and another chuckled at an exchange: “Jeremy: Did you see the spitfire flying over head today? Kaleb: What’s a spitfire?”

It seems interruptions during filming are nothing new for the host. During filming for season four, it was claimed the camera crew had “been forced to stop” several times.

Last August, it was reported a “giant military aircraft” was “thundering overhead”, forcing cameras to stop rolling.

Months earlier, Clarkson expressed frustration on social media about an intrusive helicopter, posting an image with the caption: “Filming paused till this f****ard buggers off,” showing a helicopter hovering near Diddly Squat.

Clarkson excited fans with news of Clarkson’s Farm season fifth, announced before season four had even been released.

During Bonfire night festivities, using lit drones as his backdrop, he declared, “Over the years, bright lights in the sky have been used to make many important announcements – the birth of baby Jesus, for example.”

As the drones formed a number five, he added, “But tonight, they’re being used to make an announcement that’s even bigger than that. Season 5 of Clarkson’s Farm is coming.”

Nevertheless, he hinted at a hiatus after season five, indicating the team may take a ‘short break’ before considering season six.

Speaking to The Times, he said: “Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out.

“We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.”
