Deadliest Catch

Pressure Boils Over in ‘Deadliest Catch’ Season 21—Who Couldn’t Take It Anymore?

Another high-stakes season of Deadliest Catch is about to begin, and the action is taking place in the most remote destination yet. In Season 21, the fan-favorite captains and their crews head to Adak Island — a remote and “unforgiving” location, according to Captain Sig Hansen.

“When fishermen discover monster red king crab in the far west, a gold rush-style race ignites among the Dutch Harbor fleet. To claim their share of the billion-dollar bounty, captains and crews must brave unforgiving 50-foot seas to reach abandoned Adak Island, venturing farther west than anyone has dared in over 30 years and beyond the bounds of rescue,” according to Discovery Channel. “Navigating through unfamiliar territory to secure the lucrative haul, the crews face extreme conditions and major ship malfunctions that put them in serious life-threatening situations, leaving the fleet at the mercy of the tumultuous western Bering Sea.”

Deadliest Catch Season 21 returns to Discovery Channel on August 1st at 8:00 p.m. To build anticipation for the new season, Deadliest Catch dropped a trailer that pulls you in fast. With a near-abandonment and danger at every turn, the show is charting its course for another adrenaline-packed adventure.

‘Deadliest Catch’ Season 21 Features A Shocking Abandon Ship Moment

In the season trailer, Deadliest Catch gives an exclusive glimpse into the unrelenting waters of Adak Island. With moments of jubilation paired with “moments of hell,” the tone is defined by Captain Sig’s lack of response to, “You are scared?” Throughout the trailer, viewers bear witness to injuries onboard and tense moments, requesting the cameras to stop rolling. With “abandon all hope” blasted across the screen, it all leads to Captain Jake Anderson’s mayday call and request to abandon ship.

The season is set to feature Deadliest Catch’s favorite stars and ships. The captains setting out for this season’s adventure include Captain Sig Hansen (F/V Northwestern), Captain Johnathan Hillstrand (F/V Time Bandit), Captain Keith Colburn (F/V Wizard), Captain Jake Anderson (F/V Titan Explorer), Captain Steve “Harley” Davidson (F/V Confidence), Captain Rick Shelford (F/V Aleutian Lady), and Captain Sophia “Bob” Nielsen (F/V Aleutian Lady).

Deadliest Catch Season 21 returns to Discovery Channel on August 1. All episodes are available to stream on HBO Max.
