Production on Clarkson’s Farm stalled due to unwelcome surprise for Clarkson
Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he’s been forced to briefly pause filming for Clarkson’s Farm season five.
The former Top Gear presenter, 65, has been keeping fans updated with his antics on his Diddly Squat farm in Oxfordshire over four seasons of the Amazon Prime docuseries, which first premiered in 2021.
Over that time, he’s faced plenty of farming setbacks, learnt the ropes from farmhand Kaleb Cooper and melted hearts with some of the animals on his land.
He’s also been dealt “disasters” after dealing with opening a farm shop and an on-site pub, The Farmer’s Dog.
Now, Jeremy has revealed filming for season five has temporarily been halted, due to unforeseen circumstances.
Taking to Instagram with a screenshot of a flight map, he showed fans that an unexpected plane had entered the airspace above the farm.
Diddly Squat is in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, in the Cotswolds, and the plane appeared to have done a loop around Clarkson’s site before carrying on.
It had flown over surrounding areas like Charlbury, Woodstock, and Stonesfield on its route, and looked to be heading further West towards Kingham.
Clarkson wrote in the caption: “Definitely don’t mind having to stop filming while this flies over.”
“Is Richard strapped on top of it?” one fan quipped, in reference to Clarkson’s former Top Gear co-host Richard Hammond.
Another pondered: “I’ve always been curious about how loud these things are, in a practical sense…”
“Why would you stop filming! Get the Spitfire in the show!!” someone else laughed, while a fourth joked: “Jeremy: Did you see the spitfire flying over head today? Kaleb: What’s a spitfire?”
It’s not the first time he’s had to halt filming for an unwelcome interruption.
During filming for season four, it was claimed the camera crew had “been forced to stop” several times.
Last August, it was reported a “giant military aircraft” was “thundering overhead”, forcing cameras to stop rolling.
Months earlier, Clarkson fumed over an allegedly deliberate helicopter interruption, as he seethed: “Filming paused till this f****ard buggers off,” alongside an image on Instagram of a helicopter that appeared to be circling Diddly Squat.
Clarkson revealed that season five of Clarkson’s Farm would be landing on screens in a video last November, before the fourth instalment had aired.
Celebrating Bonfire night with a series of lit-up drones in the background, he confirmed: “Over the years, bright lights in the sky have been used to make many important announcements – the birth of baby Jesus, for example.”
With the drones moving into the formation of the number five, he continued: “But tonight, they’re being used to make an announcement that’s even bigger than that. Season 5 of Clarkson’s Farm is coming.”
However, he later revealed the team would be taking a “short break” before a possible sixth season.
He told The Times: “Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out.
“We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.”
