Clarkson’s Farm fans deliver list of demands for series 5 and beg for spin-off
Fans of the hit series Clarkson’s Farm are eagerly anticipating what season five could deliver – as well as begging for a spin-off of the show.
Fronted by Jeremy Clarkson, the hit Amazon Prime Video series has captured viewers over its four seasons, prompting a demand for more content featuring the much-loved personalities.
Some fans, despite the show’s triumph on Amazon Prime, have expressed concerns about it diverging into “more radical ideas” that may deviate from its original essence.
Over on the r/ClarksonsFarm subreddit, there’s been lively debate with fans positing ideas for the new season, emphasising the importance of staying “grounded in reality”.
There’s a strong belief among the fanbase that a new season is already in the pipeline and that the wheels are in motion behind the scenes, reports the Express.
A keen supporter posted: “I know there are still things left for Jeremy Clarkson to try (Alpaca farming perhaps? ) but I don’t feel the need for the show to try and introduce even more radical ideas, just to keep people’s attention, rather than being a genuine attempt to make things as profitable as possible, as has been the case so far with the farm shop and now the pub.
“I guess I am saying that I want it to still be grounded in reality (such as the paint marker attachment for the seed drill) rather than trying something that stands no chance of working (like growing coffee) or feels like it is only being done for sheer spectacle (such as hiring a fleet of combine harvesters to try and complete the harvest in record time).”
Fans overwhelmingly agree that Clarkson’s Farm is at its best when it showcases the trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland conquering the manifold trials of farming.
One avid viewer commented: “There are some things they could revisit if they have time and a place for them.”
Another fan concern revolves around the peril threatening the woods where the pigs reside. The concern was voiced: “The pig’s woods are in serious trouble.
“A huge number of trees have been completely girdled by the pigs and they are going to die, full stop. The remainder are at risk.
“They’ve likely completed the dam but it warrants another look, along with the pond to check on progress. Has the endeavour with the goats to rid the bramble been successful? And have any made it to market yet?”
Other supporters seem content with the idea of letting things unfold naturally, suggesting: “I think after the confirmed season five I’d just be happy for yearly specials to see how the farming year went for Diddly Squat. Surely there’d be some shenanigans still and it could still be a fun watch!”, signalling a preference for occasional updates after the season.
Speculation about the series’ future continues as one devoted fan pondered whether Clarkson’s relationships in the farming sector might hint that the show’s conclusion is approaching.
They also pointed out that Clarkson has now “finally got the establishment” in the agricultural world, which initially wasn’t present in the first series.
One called for a spin-off with Kaleb as they predicted: “I think season five will be almost about him stepping back from the actual farming with more of the focus on Kaleb and then season six will be mostly Kaleb antics, maybe introducing his family more into the show or an entire Kaleb and Harriet spinoff.”
Another added: “The show will potentially reach a natural conclusion at some point in the next few years, although I have every faith something similar starring Jeremy may take its place if he is physically able to do it.”
