Clarkson’s Farm: Kaleb Cooper’s Return Sparks Debate Among Fans
The long-awaited fourth season of Clarkson’s Farm has finally landed on Prime Video, bringing viewers back to the rolling fields of Diddly Squat and reuniting fans with Jeremy Clarkson, Kaleb Cooper, Lisa Hogan, and the rest of the farm’s now-famous cast of characters.
In the run-up to the release, however, there was a brief moment of panic among fans. The trailers for Season Four seemed to hint that farm manager Kaleb Cooper might be gone for good, fuelling speculation that his time on the series had come to an end.
The source of the rumours? A new face on the farm – Harriet Cowan – who was shown taking over some of Kaleb’s duties. The reason soon became clear: Kaleb had temporarily stepped away to embark on a nationwide speaking tour, leaving Harriet to fill in during his absence.
When the new season dropped, fans quickly discovered there was no cause for alarm. Kaleb was only missing for a couple of episodes before making his return. Still, that didn’t stop a wave of online chatter – and in some cases, criticism – from bubbling up about his on-screen demeanour.
The debate intensified after a clip from the new season went viral on TikTok. In the scene, Jeremy Clarkson gives Kaleb what appears to be a tongue-in-cheek “fatherly” talking-to upon his return. Drawing a playful comparison, Clarkson explained that certain rockstar friends of his would often rent an isolated house for two weeks after finishing a tour, just to re-acclimatise to normal life without having every need catered for.
He jokingly accused Kaleb of experiencing a similar post-tour adjustment period, even teasing that the young farmer had caught “c**t flu” – a cheeky term meant in jest, but one that some fans took more seriously than intended.
“That father talk was definitely needed,” one TikTok user commented. Another was more blunt: “Kaleb showed signs of arrogance from the outset. It’s just got worse with fame – he needs to think about things and level out.”
Elsewhere, another viewer reacted to a scene of Kaleb meeting Harriet by admitting: “Not gonna lie, not a fan of Kaleb at the moment. Feels like fame and money have gone to his head a bit. Harriet, I didn’t think I’d like, but she’s actually pretty decent.”

Not all responses were critical. Plenty of fans came to Kaleb’s defence, pointing out that his forthright personality has been part of the show’s charm since day one.
“You’re all forgetting that Kaleb has always been like this,” one fan wrote. “Have you forgotten the last three seasons? Go back and watch – his brutal honesty is why we all loved him in the first place.”
Another agreed: “Everyone getting mad at Kaleb is forgetting how he acted in Seasons 1–3. Nothing’s changed except your perception of him.”
While opinions remain split, the fact that Clarkson continues to keep Kaleb in a central role – despite audience affection for Harriet Cowan – suggests that whatever personality sparks exist between them off-camera, they’re not serious enough to shake the foundations of the farm’s dynamic.
For now, it seems Kaleb Cooper will remain a fixture at Diddly Squat, sharp tongue and all. Fans can judge for themselves by watching the first four episodes of Clarkson’s Farm Season Four, now streaming on Prime Video.
