Clarkson’s Farm star announces career move away from show
Since its debut in 2021, the hugely popular show has given viewers an inside look at life on Jeremy Clarkson’s 1,000-acre farm in Chadlington, near Chipping Norton. What began as a television experiment for the former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter has since grown into one of Prime Video’s most successful factual series, turning his farm workers and friends into household names.
Among them is young farmer Kaleb Cooper, whose quick wit and no-nonsense approach to Jeremy’s often misguided ideas has made him a fan favourite. Land agent Charlie Ireland, Jeremy’s partner Lisa Hogan, and head of security Gerald Cooper have all played memorable roles too, each bringing their own personality to the screen.
When season four aired earlier this year, audiences were introduced to a new member of the farm team: Harriet Cowan, a young farmer from Derbyshire. Stepping in to help run the farm while Kaleb was away on tour, Harriet quickly won over viewers with her warmth, approachable nature, and extensive farming knowledge. Her bond with Jeremy—often a mix of patience, humour, and genuine respect—made her stand out as one of the season’s breakout stars.
Now Harriet has announced an exciting new project of her own. Moving away from her former career in nursing, she is officially stepping into the digital spotlight with the launch of her very own YouTube channel, Harriet on the Farm. Her first video, set to go live on August 31, will be a Q&A session answering questions fans have sent in.
Teasing what’s to come, Harriet hinted that the video could contain “some juicy details,” leaving fans curious about what surprises she might reveal. In a candid message to her followers, she explained her decision to pursue this new path:
“It’s true. I am no longer nursing because it appears I got the bug—the farming bug. And I’ve always had it, but before I didn’t really have any other incomes. A few months ago, I put out a video talking about me starting on YouTube. The general census was [to do it]. So the wait is over. Harriet on the Farm is coming your way on August 31.”
She admitted she hasn’t fully worked out how the vlogs will be structured, saying it will likely depend on the work and challenges happening on the farm at the time. For now, though, she is focusing on making sure her debut video connects with viewers who enjoyed seeing her on Clarkson’s Farm.
While filming for season five of the series is already underway, it remains unclear whether Harriet will appear alongside Jeremy and the rest of the team. Still, her new YouTube channel promises to keep fans updated on her farming journey—and judging by the response she received after season four, plenty of viewers will be eager to tune in.
