Clarkson’s Farm star announces huge move away from Jeremy’s show

Clarkson’s Farm star Harriet Cowan is furthering her TV career.

Clarkson’s Farm star Harriet Cowan is starring in a brand new series, away from the Amazon Prime hit show. The 24-year-old farmer is set to join Channel 4 on a children’s TV show, alongside Inbetweeners star Jessica Knappett.

Tiny Farmers will see Harriet and Jessica joined by hen experts, Avril and Michael. Together, they will be sharing how to spot a happy hen and giving insight into an egg’s journey from farm to table. Meanwhile, four children are challenged to become egg farmers of the future, from taking on a challenge about looking after the hens to showcasing their cooking skills. Stephen Parnell, Digital Commissioning Executive at Channel 4 said: “Harriet and Jessica’s infectious enthusiasm brings Tiny Farmers to life, connecting brilliantly with our young contestants as they compete to impress both hens and hosts. Working alongside Interstellar TV and The Happy Egg Co. has been a joy, and I can’t wait to share this hilarious – yet heartwarming – show with viewers.”

Harriet, who is also a nurse as well as a farmer, shot to fame after stepping in as Jeremy Clarkson’s farmhand while Kaleb Cooper was away on tour in series four of the hit show.

She quickly became a fan favorite, helping with tasks, and using her platform to share farming realities, eventually giving up nursing for agriculture.

Since her exit from Clarkson’s Farm, Harriet has launched her own YouTube channel and become a significant voice in British agriculture, while keeping the door open for future appearances on the show if needed.

Harriet has hit back at a wave of abuse she’s faced online this week, defending her “makeup and hair” as she mucks in on the farm and goes to deliver talks on life as a female farmer.

On Monday, Harriet took to Instagram to hit back at comments about her looks she’d seen on her posts after she announced she would give a talk on farming.

She plucked out examples of comments, as one said: “She has never been a real farmer and is attempting to be a media star. As you say it’s a bit insulting to the real farm girls.

Harriet then posted a long message in reply, which said: “Just want to say I’m going to lamma to look at machinery, yes I’m doing a panel about females in farming, but I think I earn the right to do so when day in day out I work just the same as every other farmer covered in s***.

“Who cares if I wear makeup or not, I don’t care if you have a haircut or not, I have farmed alongside my granddad and dad I genuinely love it, this is my job and it’s again only because I’m a girl… come on, I have been quiet because I think if I don’t share so much I won’t get the comments but they still come, remember we are real people.”
