Clarkson’s Farm star Charlie Ireland attends Reading event

A Clarkson’s Farm star attended a charity event that raised £80,000 for hospices.

On Friday, July 4, more than 100 people gathered at Purdey at the Royal Berkshire in Reading for the Naomi House & Jacksplace charity clay shoot.

Naomi House & Jacksplace are local hospices for children and young adults.

The charity event has raised £80,000 so far.

The aim of the fundraising event was to raise the equivalent of a nurse’s annual salary.

Naomi House & Jacksplace are pleased to announce that this target has been achieved and exceeded.

The day featured a series of shooting rounds with both aerial and ground-level targets.

The aim was to showcase skills and compete for the title of the top-scoring team.

Before the afternoon dinner, a speech was given by Matt and Imee, a family supported by Naomi House & Jacksplace.

Their son Freddie, who died in 2023, received care from the hospices at the end of his life.

Naomi House & Jacksplace continue to support the family.

Matt and Imee said: “The Naomi House & Jacksplace team guided us through our worst fears in such a gentle and respectful way that even though we will forever be devastated by Freddie’s death, we can look back knowing that everything that could possibly be done, was done, and Freddie died with dignity.”

After the dinner, guests participated in a lively charity auction, with a range of exclusive prizes donated by supporters of Naomi House & Jacksplace.

The event was made even more special by a guest appearance from Charlie Ireland, land agent and familiar face from the series Clarkson’s Farm.

Rhodri Thomas, part of the fundraising committee for the event, said: “It’s been an absolute privilege to be part of the committee for this year’s charity clay shoot.

“Seeing over 100 people come together, enjoying a fantastic day of shooting, sharing stories, and raising such a phenomenal amount, it’s truly heartwarming.

“I can’t wait to see how much is raised in next year’s event.”
