Clarkson’s Farm Star Set for Major TV Move After Gaining Recognition on Jeremy’s Show

Clarkson’s Farm star Harriet Cowan is starring in a brand new Channel 4 series, away from the hit Amazon Prime show

Harriet Cowan, the breakout star from Clarkson’s Farm, is branching out into fresh territory with a new Channel 4 series. The 24-year-old farmer will appear alongside Inbetweeners actor Jessica Knappett, swapping the Amazon Prime sensation for children’s television.

In Tiny Farmers, Harriet and Jessica team up with poultry specialists Avril and Michael to educate viewers on the telltale signs of contented chickens and trace an egg’s path from farmyard to breakfast table.

The programme challenges four youngsters to prove themselves as the next generation of egg farmers, tackling everything from hen welfare duties to culinary demonstrations.

Stephen Parnell, Digital Commissioning Executive at Channel 4, commented: “Harriet and Jessica’s infectious enthusiasm brings Tiny Farmers to life, connecting brilliantly with our young contestants as they compete to impress both hens and hosts. Working alongside Interstellar TV and The Happy Egg Co. has been a joy, and I can’t wait to share this hilarious – yet heartwarming – show with viewers.”

Harriet, who juggled nursing alongside farming before her television breakthrough, became a household name after standing in for Kaleb Cooper when he went on tour during the fourth series of Clarkson’s Farm.

Viewers warmed to her immediately as she mucked in with various agricultural duties, using her growing profile to shine a light on the realities of modern farming before ultimately choosing agriculture over her nursing career. Since her departure from Clarkson’s Farm, Harriet has taken to YouTube, becoming a prominent figure in British farming and leaving the possibility of returning to the show if required, reports the Express.

Harriet has recently responded to a barrage of online criticism, defending her choice to wear “makeup and hair” while working on the farm and delivering talks about her experiences as a female farmer.

On Monday, Harriet took to Instagram to address comments about her appearance that she’d seen on her posts after announcing her upcoming talk on farming.

She highlighted some of the remarks, including one that read: “She has never been a real farmer and is attempting to be a media star. As you say it’s a bit insulting to the real farm girls.Harriet then posted a long message in reply, which said: “.

In response, Harriet posted a lengthy message which read: “Just want to say I’m going to lamma to look at machinery, yes I’m doing a panel about females in farming, but I think I earn the right to do so when day in day out I work just the same as every other farmer covered in s***.

“Who cares if I wear makeup or not, I don’t care if you have a haircut or not, I have farmed alongside my granddad and dad I genuinely love it, this is my job and it’s again only because I’m a girl… come on, I have been quiet because I think if I don’t share so much I won’t get the comments but they still come, remember we are real people.”

Tiny Farmers will premiere on Channel 4’s YouTube channel on January 19. The episode will also be available for streaming from February 2.
