Clarkson’s Farm star to begin new on-screen career

The 24-year-old farmhand from Derbyshire quickly became a familiar face to viewers in the most recent season of Clarkson’s Farm, which aired between May and June this year. She stepped in as a temporary replacement for long-time fan favourite Kaleb Cooper while he was away on tour, assisting Jeremy Clarkson with the daily ups and downs of life at Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington, Oxfordshire.

Although Cowan was only a short-term addition to the cast, she made a lasting impression. Fans praised her practical farming skills, her easygoing humour, and her ability to hold her own while working alongside Clarkson — no small task given the farm’s chaotic reputation.

But in a recent update to her followers, Cowan revealed that she would not be continuing as a nurse, her previous full-time profession, and instead has decided to dedicate herself more fully to farming and, increasingly, to content creation.

Speaking candidly online, she explained the decision:

“The cat’s somewhat out of the bag. It’s true, I am no longer nursing because it appears I got the bug. You definitely know what the bug is, right? Yeah, I got the farming bug. And I’ve always had it, but before, I didn’t really have any other income.”

While she has not completely walked away from healthcare — promising to continue picking up occasional shifts within the NHS — Cowan emphasised that her day-to-day focus has shifted to the family farm in Derbyshire and, now, to creating her own digital presence.

On Instagram, Cowan announced the launch of her channel, appropriately titled “Harriet on the Farm.” She revealed that her first video would premiere at 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, and posted a short teaser clip of what appears to be a light-hearted Q&A session.

“The wait’s over, Harriet on the Farm is coming your way on August 31,” she wrote excitedly, confirming that her followers would finally get to see her independent venture take shape.

For many fans, this marks an exciting new opportunity to keep up with Cowan’s journey beyond Clarkson’s Farm. By combining her background in healthcare with her passion for agriculture, she represents a new generation of young people bridging traditional farming with modern platforms of communication.

With her approachable personality, practical farming knowledge, and a growing fan base already invested in her story, Harriet Cowan’s YouTube channel promises to offer a mix of farming insights, behind-the-scenes life on her family’s land, and a closer look at her transition from nurse to full-time farmer and digital creator.
