Eagle-eyed Clarkson’s Farm fans convinced fifth season will be ‘last’

Jeremy Clarkson’s Clarkson’s Farm has been a huge hit with Amazon Prime viewers, but it seems some fans are convinced the show could come to an end after the fifth season

Enthusiasts of Clarkson’s Farm suspect the fifth series will mark its conclusion, with supporters spotting several clues the programme is drawing to a close. The Jeremy Clarkson-led show has rapidly established itself as a beloved choice amongst Amazon Prime subscribers, though some are convinced the programme is approaching its finale.

Supporters flocked to the r/ClarksonsFarm Reddit forum and expressed their views on what might represent the programme’s conclusion. A message on the platform states: “Looks like this upcoming season five will be the last for Clarkson’s Farm,” revealing news that a spin-off production featuring cast members from Clarkson’s Farm could be under development.

Whether the programme truly ends remains unconfirmed, but some enthusiasts are preparing themselves for the conclusion – whilst others welcome the prospect of a spin-off series.

Clarkson has faced an uphill battle when it comes to expanding his Diddly Squat venture.

One supporter commented: “It’s been looking that way for a bit now. Jeremy Clarkson talked a lot about this with S4 starting, that it was time for a break after S5.”

Another agreed, adding: “He also said it’s not necessarily the ‘end’ of the series, just that the whole crew needs a break after season five, if I remember correctly.”

In conversation with The Sun, Kaleb hinted at a possible programme of his own, remarking: “Hopefully one day. Who knows.”

Whilst fans were thrilled by this prospect, they did consider their desire for a series centred around Charlie Ireland. One fan commented: “Would prefer a Charlie spinoff to a Kaleb spinoff, but I’ll take it.”

Another added: “I always thought a Charlie spinoff where he goes and sorts out farms could be good. Like Gordon Ramsay kitchen nightmares but probably with less shouting/swearing.”

Clarkson did acknowledge his interest in producing a sixth series of the programme, though it would require a “bl***y good” storyline to reunite the team, particularly when they require some respite.

He explained: “I’d do a sixth if there was a reason for doing it, like a bl***y good story… Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out. We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.”

For Clarkson, this approach represents a significant shift in the way farms operate

Supporters believe Clarkson has recognised the crew requires a break, and it appears Clarkson’s Farm will enter a period of rest following its fifth series.

One viewer proposed: “They have been going for 7 years straight or something like that of working odd and random hours. This obviously messes with their family lives and other jobs they have lined up.

“It seems Jeremy has noticed this and has decided to give the show a break for a year so that the crew get a bit of a break of filming at odd and random hours.

“Also, the show has reached a point where not much is going to change year to year anymore so filming every 2nd year gives enough time for things to change a bit so that each season doesn’t just end up being mostly the same as the previous one.”

Another viewer suggested that the programme was running out of fresh ideas as it moved into its fifth series. They commented: “On the more realistic issues side I think next series will revolve around the incredibly dry summer we’ve had in a fair amount of the UK and the impact that has had on crops.

“It’ll be interesting as it’s the exact opposite to the series just gone which was an incredibly wet year. As for the fun quirky side I’m not really sure.

“I would imagine probably he may go for llamas, alpacas or something really out there like ostriches. Not uncommon to see alpaca farms here!”.
