James May breaks silence on being ‘banned’ from Jeremy Clarkson’s pub
Last year, Jeremy Clarkson took on the new venture of opening up his very own pub in the Cotswolds.
One of Jeremy Clarkson’s former Grand Tour co-stars has issued a hilarious response over being ‘banned’ from his pub.
During the latest series of his Prime show Clarkson’s Farm, viewers saw the trials and tribulations of the former Top Gear star as he tackled opening his own pub, The Farmer’s Dog.
Although the 65-year-old recently admitted he wants to ban a certain group of customers for being ‘annoying’, it seems as though some famous names are also on the no-entry list.
One of them includes his former Grand Tour co-stars, Richard Hammond and James May, whom he worked alongside for over two decades.
While appearing on Friday’s instalment of Lorraine, ITV host Christine Lampard spoke to James May about being banned from the pub, keen to get his thoughts.

She asked: “Is it true you’ve been banned from Jeremy Clarkson’s pub?”
He replied: “Well, apparently. But I have said before that’s a bit like being banned from the golf club because I wasn’t going to go anyway.
“I’ve got my own pub which is just around the corner, I’m not going to go 75 miles to his, especially as mine’s better.”
However, it seems as though the ban is all in good jest as they continue their friendly rivalry.
In the past, Jeremy has spoken about the ambitious project of opening a pub, admitting it was harder than he initially thought.
He said, “Honestly, it was much, much harder. There are so many things that you discover about opening and running a pub that you wouldn’t even consider.
Jeremy revealed that running a pub was extremely stressful, even more so than managing a farm.
He told The Sun’s TV magazine, detailing how he had to work nonstop during the initial stages after buying the pub, “I like hard work. If I don’t do something constructive in a day, I can’t really get to sleep that night.
“But that was silly, and it did actually mess my heart up. It’s very stressful running a pub; it’s more stressful than running a farm.”
Clarkson’s Farm is available to watch on Prime Video.
