Jeremy Clarkson Admits Defeat: “I’ve Tried Everything—It’s Hopeless”

Clarkson’s Farm has been a huge success on Amazon Prime ever since its release in 2021, but now Jeremy has revealed that there is one thing he can’t do on his Diddly Squat farm

Former Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson has admitted there is “nothing he can do” as he shares an insight into life on his Diddly Squat farm in Oxfordshire.

Having bought the farm in 2008 and beginning to manage it 11 years later, Jeremy has seen a significant increase in the number of animals since then.

After launching Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime in 2021, fans have been able to follow the presenter as he tackles the daily challenges of running a farm.

In his latest column in The Sun, the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host revealed how one issue has proven to be a bit too much for him.

Jeremy explained that while his dogs are well-trained around most of the animals on the farm, he admitted there is “nothing he can do” when it comes to them chasing deer.

Describing how powerless he feels when they set their sights on a nearby deer, he said: “But there is nothing I can do to stop them chasing deer.”

He added: “I spend half my life giving it the full ‘Fenton’ as they whizz about in a hopeless quest to catch something that’s way faster than they are.”

Jeremy had been discussing how he is planning to start using a newly created device designed to train guide dogs not to chase squirrels.

While suggesting that he might create his own version—replacing the squirrel with a deer—he confessed the breed of his dogs might work against him, noting that his Labradors would likely eat and destroy the gadget.

Away from Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy first rose to prominence through Top Gear on the BBC. After first airing in 1977, the show built a huge following with its mix of car reviews, tense challenges, and celebrity guest appearances.

After his time on the show ended in 2015, it wasn’t long before he was back behind the wheel in a new motoring series.

The show, which followed a similar format to Top Gear, also featured familiar faces, with Richard Hammond and James May making the switch from the BBC show to The Grand Tour. A spin-off special, The Not Very Grand Tour: The Power and the Glory, was released on Amazon Prime earlier this year.
