Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond to reunite in Oxfordshire this week?
Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond could be on the verge of a reunion in Oxfordshire this week — a development that has sparked excitement among fans of the iconic presenting duo.
For more than two decades, Clarkson, Hammond, and fellow co-host James May formed one of television’s most successful partnerships, fronting the BBC’s Top Gear before moving on to Amazon Prime Video’s The Grand Tour. Their on-screen chemistry and globe-trotting adventures made them household names, and their partnership became synonymous with car culture and irreverent humour.
In 2024, the trio officially called time on their long-running collaboration with the release of The Grand Tour: One For The Road. The special took viewers on an emotional journey through Zimbabwe and Botswana, serving as both a farewell to the format and a closing chapter in the presenters’ shared adventures. Since then, all three have pursued individual projects, leaving many fans wondering when — or if — the trio might be seen together again.
Now, however, circumstances have aligned to bring at least two of them back to the same corner of the UK. Jeremy Clarkson, who owns and operates both Diddly Squat Farm and his recently opened pub, The Farmer’s Dog, is firmly rooted in Oxfordshire. It’s also where he resides, making him a well-known local figure. Richard Hammond, meanwhile, is set to arrive in the county later this week to attend Salon Privé, the prestigious luxury car show held at Woodstock’s Blenheim Palace.
With both men in West Oxfordshire at the same time, the possibility of a reunion — whether planned or purely coincidental — has grown considerably. For fans, the prospect of Clarkson and Hammond catching up on familiar turf, especially against the backdrop of cars and countryside pubs, is enough to spark plenty of speculation.
Hammond, however, was quick to play down expectations when asked about the chances of dropping in on his old friend’s pub. Speaking to the Oxford Mail, he explained that his work commitments would keep him busy during his stay in the area:
“I’ll be there working, there’s a typical example,” he said.
“I’ll be in the area, but I’ll be busy doing what I’m doing.”
Whether or not Clarkson himself plans to attend Salon Privé remains a mystery. The event, which showcases some of the world’s most rare and classic cars, is situated just a short distance from his home — and given his long-standing passion for motoring, there is every chance the lure of Blenheim Palace’s lawns could prove too strong to resist.
If Clarkson does make an appearance, it could pave the way for an unplanned reunion with Hammond, a scenario that would delight fans who have been missing their on-screen camaraderie. For now, speculation continues to swirl, and Oxfordshire locals will be keeping a close eye out for two of Britain’s most recognisable motoring personalities sharing a pint or admiring cars together once more.
