Jeremy Clarkson announced further tragic news – just hours after a puppy died

Jeremy Clarkson shared further heartbreaking news after confirming that cattle at his Diddly Squat Farm have tested positive for TB. The former Top Gear host revealed the devastating development last week, alongside the tragic news that one of the new puppies born to his dog Arya has passed away.

Jeremy delivered two crushing updates regarding the farm, following his initial distressing announcement that left fans deeply saddened for the presenter-turned-farmer. Speaking to Peter Cardwell on Times Radio, Jeremy said: “It’s awful, it is awful. You have a test every six months on the cows and then you sort of become blasé, it’s a hypothetical threat.

“And then the vet looks up as he did yesterday lunchtime and said ‘I’m really sorry this one’s failed’. So that means we’re now locked down and it’s just dreadful, absolutely dreadful.

“It’s only been not even 24 hours since I found out and it occupies my mind. Well it was occupying my mind but I got up this morning and found one of my puppies has died. And we’ve got a very sickly calf. Honestly, farming? I’m not enjoying it this week”, reports the Express.

The star has since clarified what his reference to being “locked down” means, sharing on X: “The farm is NOT shut. We just can’t buy or sell any cows.” Jeremy also revealed that the farm will remain that way for “certainly two months because that’s how long we have to wait before we do another test” but confirmed that the farm shop remained unaffected as “it’s only cows that get affected by it”.

The television star delivered the devastating news to his followers on X initially, posting: “Bad news from Diddly Squat. We’ve gone down with TB. Everyone here is absolutely devastated.”

Bovine tuberculosis or bovine TB is “caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium bovis, (M. bovis) which is closely related to the bacterium that causes human and avian tuberculosis. The infectious disease is respiratory and can be transmitted “through nose to nose contact and also through contact with saliva, urine, faeces and milk”.”

There’s also a risk it could spread to humans as well.

The announcement emerged just hours after Kaleb Cooper revealed his own heartbreaking news.

He informed supporters that thieves had nicked his farming kit, including one of his tractors and a post knocker, which is used for hammering fence posts into the earth.
