Jeremy Clarkson breaks down in tears and is consoled by girlfriend Lisa as he bids sad farewell at Clarkson’s Farm

JEREMY Clarkson breaks down in tears and is consoled by girlfriend Lisa Hogan after bidding a sad farewell at Clarkson’s Farm.
The first four episodes of the Prime Video series has dropped today and sees Jeremy continuing to juggle his farm and pub, while also recovering from his heart scare.
With the pub losing money despite being packed to the rafters every day with punters, Jeremy is keen to make sure his business ventures on the farm deliver what they need to.
But unfortunately for Jeremy, his prized pigs – the rare-breed Oxford Sandy and Blacks – don’t produce as much meat as he would have hoped for when he takes them to the butchers.
The butcher explains that the meat has too much fat on them, which is a characteristic of the Sandy and Black and why they became a rare-breed in the first place.
With a sigh, Jeremy says: “All that effort, and we’ve got sausages.”
The butcher replies: “Very nice sausages I might add, very expensive sausages to produce.”
Jeremy responds: “It’s loss making then that really isn’t it? S***.”
Jeremy and girlfriend Lisa have been breeding the pigs for a number of years now, dealing with the heartache of piglets being squashed to death by their mothers in earlier episodes of the show.
Despite the trials and tribulations the animals have brought him, he admits to co-star Charlie Ireland that he “loves the pigs. I have absolutely, I’ve just been delighted with every day I’m down there.
“They make my heart sing, I’m so happy with them. But we’re running a business here and they make no financial sense at all.”
However, the star can’t afford to keep losing money on the pigs for little return, and makes the heartbreaking decision to send the majority of them off to the abattoir.
The final two sows – Clumsy and Swizz – are sent to live on an educational farm, and he says: “I couldn’t really have handled it if they’d gone off to be eaten.”
As he and Lisa say goodbye to them, it all becomes too much for Jeremy and with his back to the camera, he puts his face in his hands and rubs his eyes.
As he sniffs, a concerned Lisa comes over to him and gives him a big hug and strokes his head as he holds her tightly and cries.
The first four episodes of series five of Clarkson’s Farm are available on Prime Video now.
