Jeremy Clarkson celebrates a major milestone with Lisa Hogan in a heartfelt new post.
Jeremy Clarkson has celebrated nearly a decade alongside his partner Lisa Hogan.
The ex-Top Gear presenter, 65, has been romantically involved with Lisa, 51, since 2016 and the pair frequently appear together on Amazon’s BAFTA-winning sensation Clarkson’s Farm, where she assists in running Diddly Squat and its retail outlet.
The broadcaster turned to social media on Monday to commemorate the milestone moment, though he opted for understated recognition by sharing a straightforward selfie of the couple.
Captioning the endearing photograph, he penned on Instagram: “Nine years! ! ! !” The television personality was flooded with numerous congratulatory messages from his famous friends, including WAG Lizzie Cundy, who responded: “Huge congrats,” accompanied by multiple hand-clapping emojis.
Richard E. Grant also contributed an entire row of celebratory symbols. Fashion designer Amanda Wakey commented: “Lucky boy,” whilst numerous Jeremy admirers joined the conversation too, reports the Mirror.
Urging the couple towards marriage, one follower posted: “Put a wring on it. Women like this don’t come along often! [red heart emoji]” whilst another declared: “Time to put a ring on the lovely Lisa!” A third chimed in: “She is a beautiful lady all round and has a fierce Cheers to the diddly duo!”.
Previously, Lisa disclosed she had chosen to progress their romance and seized the opportunity during last year’s leap year on February 29 when tradition dictates women propose, later joking that Jeremy remained oblivious as he wasn’t using his hearing aids. In an episode of Clarkson’s Farm, there’s a suggestion the pair might be heading towards marriage as Jeremy declares: “I’ve got a big surprise for you,” whilst strolling through a field.
“Is it a proposal?” Lisa enquires with enthusiasm. The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter feigns deafness and reveals his actual surprise – a collapsed willow tree that has been restored to life.
When questioned further about the proposal, Jeremy responds: “I’ll think about the proposal, OK? I’m not ready yet.”
Nevertheless, when quizzed about this exchange, she revealed in a recent interview: “I just thought I might surprise him.”
When pressed on whether she actually did propose, she confided to The Times: “Jeremy doesn’t think I proposed, but he wasn’t wearing his hearing aids, so no one will know.”
The pair offer audiences an honest glimpse into their romance on Jeremy’s Amazon programme, where the former Top Gear presenter informed Lisa there was absolutely no chance he’d go wild swimming with her, regardless of her enthusiasm in a recent instalment.
Rather than welcoming the notion of an invigorating plunge, as proposed by his partner, the broadcaster instructed his beloved to “get out” of the water and make their way to the local.
Whilst the former thespian frolicked in a pond, donning a white bathing cap, Jeremy questioned her: “What are you doing?” Lisa responded: “Just loitering in cold water.”
At this juncture, Jeremy insisted on knowing why they weren’t at the pub before proposing they could return home and enjoy a book together instead. But Lisa replied: “Apparently because this is the best high you could ever get.”
Sensing Jeremy’s hesitation, she encouraged him to be more open-minded since he’d never experienced cold water immersion before.
The presenter fired back: “I have been in cold water! I’ve done polar training – it was awful and trust me I’ve been drunk – and I’ve been in cold water – and being drunk is better.”
Growing tired of watching her splashing about, the host became exasperated and snapped at Lisa: “So let’s go to the pub, get out! Come on, please, hurry up.”
The former Top Gear presenter was previously wed twice to Alexandra James and Frances Caine – with whom he shares children Emily, Finlo, and Katya – before meeting Lisa.
