Jeremy Clarkson concedes ‘I’m done’ after Cotswolds pub stress

Jeremy Clarkson has conceded that he is “done” after the stresses of opening his pub in the Cotswolds.

The former Top Gear and Grand Tour host purchased The Windmill in Asthall near Burford for £1,000,000.

He set about renovating the spot, renaming it The Farmer’s Dog and opening the doors to the public in August.

As the latest episodes of Clarkson’s Farm last month showed, getting the pub going was far from plain sailing, with Mr Clarkson and his team encountering a plethora of issues.

The issues and the hectic opening saw The Farmer’s Dog lose two waitresses and a pot washer after just one day.

Now, in a new interview with The Times, Mr Clarkson has revealed that he is done with starting new businesses after the ordeal.

He said: “I’m done with business now. I am not starting another business as long as I live.

“I don’t understand it and am not motivated by money. I just want a good craic.”

The 65-year-old revealed that a fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm had been confirmed at the end of last year.

Filming on the new episodes has since started and is well underway, with customers at The Farmer’s Dog spotting camera crews last week at the site.

Although it’s too early for an official release date, it is expected that series five will follow the same pattern as three and four, releasing in May.
