Jeremy Clarkson Falls Ill and Requires Urgent Care After NHS Remarks

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he was rushed to receive ‘urgent’ hospital treatment shortly after publicly slating the NHS.

The former Top Gear host has never been afraid to voice his opinions publicly, either through his social media accounts, hit Amazon Prime TV show Clarkson’s Farm or in his Sunday Times column.

The journalist’s most recent write-up revealed how he required urgent treatment for an unknown medical emergency in an NHS hospital just hours after publishing a damning assessment of the service.

He wrote that the international doctors working in British hospitals only do so because they’ve been prohibited from practising in their native countries.

Shortly afterwards, he found himself in their care for a procedure he described as “Defcon 1 painful”.

Mr Clarkson said he had long given up paying for private healthcare because of insurers’ reluctance to pay out, instead depositing money into a separate bank account for emergency treatment.

But when he found himself a long way from any private hospital last weekend, he had to head into the NHS.

He wrote in the Sunday Times: “I had a very hot neck when I realised this and wondered if I should maybe tiptoe into the hospital in a Piers Morgan face mask.”

Despite his apprehension, the celebrity said he received nothing but professionalism from the hospital staff.

“It was OK,” he wrote. “I’ve slept in way worse hotels.”

The presenter added: “I genuinely couldn’t find anything to moan about at all.

“The doctors, nurses and everyone I met were kind. It was all spotless.

“Lunch was kids’ food – brilliant, and they event made me better – for which I shall be eternally grateful.”
