Jeremy Clarkson has made a major pub announcement after stepping back from TV.
A quiet change is coming to Jeremy Clarkson’s pub – and fans will want to act fast.
Jeremy Clarkson may have stepped back from television — but business at his Cotswolds pub is only getting busier. The former Top Gear and Grand Tour star is preparing to make a major change at his Oxfordshire watering hole ahead of 2026, after demand from fans once again went into overdrive. Clarkson bought The Windmill pub in Asthall for around £1 million last year, before embarking on months of renovations. The venue reopened in August 2024 under its new name, The Farmer’s Dog, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about pubs in the Cotswolds.
Located near Burford, the boozer has proved a magnet for Clarkson fans, food lovers and visitors to the area — with tables regularly snapped up within minutes of bookings being released. The pub has also featured heavily in the most recent series of Clarkson’s Farm, which dropped on Amazon Prime across May and June, giving viewers an inside look at the challenges of running a hospitality business alongside life on the farm.
Now, with the TV star taking a break from his screen work, a significant update has been announced for customers hoping to visit the pub in the new year.

A statement issued by The Farmer’s Dog confirmed changes to the venue’s seating layout will allow for more bookings to be released.
It said: “As you’ll know, when January bookings went live at the start of December, they disappeared at their usual, alarming speed, the internet groaned and the website briefly questioned its own existence.
“However, due to some recent changes to our table configuration, we’re able to release a small number of additional tables for January.
“That’s it. A few extra spots that didn’t exist before. “A festive bonus. A Christmas miracle.
“If you’ve been meaning to visit in January and assumed it was hopeless, now’s your chance. We wouldn’t hang about though. Miracles have a habit of disappearing.”
The update will be welcome news for fans who have repeatedly missed out on reservations, with the pub’s popularity showing no sign of slowing down.
The Farmer’s Dog is expected to return once again in the next series of Clarkson’s Farm, with series five due to land next year.
Eight new episodes have already been confirmed, and the pub is set to play a central role as Clarkson continues juggling farming, food and business pressures.
The 65-year-old TV presenter has revealed he has decided to pause filming his Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in order to take some time off but admitted he is “frightened” about the break.
He told The Sun: “I’m genuinely frightened because until March, I won’t be filming a TV show for the first time in forty years. That will be three months of s***.”
