Jeremy Clarkson makes Stacey Solomon jibe after she slammed ‘ludicrous’ National Television Awards move

The former Top Gear host also revealed his weight loss as he took to the stage at the 30th edition of the awards

Jeremy Clarkson seemingly took a swipe at Stacey Solomon after he beat two of her shows for a National Television Award at the annual ceremony.

The former Top Gear host revealed his weight loss as he took to the stage at the 30th edition of the awards on Wednesday night (September 10) as his Prime Video show, Clarkson’s Farm, won in the Best Factual Entertainment category.

After grabbing his clothing, he told the crowd at London’s The O2: “I should explain I’m on Mounjaro, my trousers are falling down.” His partner, Lisa Hogan, then grabbed the back of Jeremy’s suit bottoms, and he added: “Lisa’s going to hold my trousers up whilst I make a very short speech.”

The win saw him beat two BBC shows involving Stacey – Sort Your Life Out which she hosts and her family reality show – as well as Gogglebox and The Martin Lewis Money Show Live.

As he spoke after his win, Jeremy, alongside Lisa and and show star Harriet Cowan, Jeremy said: “Farming is a difficult job and I appreciate the way people are going, ‘I didn’t know where my sausages came from’.

“You don’t love farming, you love moments of it — it is really tricky right now. Farmers work so hard for no money so it’s delightful that people recognise a farming show can beat a house cleaning show. We shall go and have a drink.”

It came just hours after Stacey commented on the “ludicrous” decision by NTA organisers to put both of her shows up against each other in the same category.

After overhearing Magic Radio presenters Tom Price and Lucy Horobin discussing what big fans they were of BBC reality show Stacey & Joe earlier today, the Loose Women star decided to ring in to the show to say thank you.

Stacey was nominated for two awards – including twice in the same category

Lucy asked about Stacey & Joe and Sort Your Life Out going head to head in the Entertainment category tonight, Stacey said: “They’ve put Sort Your Life Out and Stacey & Joe in the same blummin’ category for some reason.

“We’re up against each other which is absolutely ludicrous! But you know what I’m so grateful to just be going, it’s so nice to be shortlisted and nominated knowing that it’s a public vote.”
