Jeremy Clarkson Opens Up About New Health Scare While Filming Clarkson’s Farm
Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that he is once again facing health challenges while filming his hit series Clarkson’s Farm in Oxfordshire.
The former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter, who has become one of Prime Video’s most popular stars thanks to the farming show, confirmed at the end of last year that a fifth series had been commissioned. Cameras have been rolling throughout 2025, following the release of the fourth season in May and June, which delighted fans with eight brand-new episodes.
But as the new season takes shape, Clarkson, 65, has spoken candidly about a fresh health issue that has been troubling him behind the scenes. Writing in his weekly column for The Times, the outspoken broadcaster admitted he is currently suffering from a painful trapped nerve in his back.
“I have a trapped nerve in my back at the moment,” Clarkson explained. “It’s fine if I’m not doing anything, but in the [Mercedes-Benz] G 580, not doing anything is impossible because it pitches and yaws and rolls all the time, and you never have any idea what it’s going to do next. So you can’t ever brace yourself.”

This is not the first time Clarkson has faced medical difficulties. In 2024, he underwent a serious heart procedure following what he described as a “sudden deterioration” in his health. Doctors in Oxford discovered that several of his arteries were severely blocked, leading to him having two stents fitted to restore proper blood flow.
Following that procedure, Clarkson reassured fans by telling The Sun: “I’m very grateful to everyone who sent supportive messages, but I’m fine. I just have to not do any manual labour or dishwasher emptying for the next four years. At least I think that’s what the doctor said.”
Despite his trademark humour, the series of health scares has left fans concerned about the long-term well-being of the presenter, who has built a new career and fanbase through his farming adventures. With filming for season five now underway, many are hoping Clarkson will be able to balance his trademark hard work at Diddly Squat Farm with the rest he clearly needs to stay healthy.
