Jeremy Clarkson reunites with Grand Tour co-star for first time on screen since emotional ending
Jeremy Clarkson was reunited with his The Grand Tour co-star Richard Hammond in the latest episode of Clarkson’s Farm – and he had to pay him a ‘huge sum of money’
Jeremy Clarkson has recently shared the screen with his Grand Tour comrade Richard Hammond for the first time since their Amazon Prime series concluded in 2024, resulting in Clarkson coughing up a “huge sum of money”.
In an episode of Clarkson’s Farm, Clarkson summons the ex-Top Gear host to Diddly Squat farm for assistance with an ambitious project.
Embarking on a lengthy journey to a remote Herefordshire village, Clarkson seeks out Hammond’s expertise in car restoration.
His grand plan involves chroming a tractor and reducing its weight to hang it from the ceiling of his newly acquired pub, The Farmer’s Dog.
Hammond was hesitant, citing a hefty price tag of about £20,000.
When Clarkson probed, “Are we talking hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands?” Hammond confirmed: “Tens of thousands.”
Clarkson expressed his shock, lamenting, “Why didn’t you tell me off before I set off that it was going to be more than the GDP of most European countries?” to which Hammond retorted: “Then you wouldn’t have come.”
Questioning whether a “a normal farmer” would face the same steep fee, Hammond quipped: “What normal farmer would chrome his tractor?”, reports the Express.
With the pub’s opening looming in just five weeks, Clarkson felt compelled to accept Hammond’s terms to realise his vision.
He has revamped the old country inn The Windmill in Asthall into The Farmer’s Dog, following in the footsteps of fellow presenter James May who opened his own establishment in Wiltshire in 2014.
