Jeremy Clarkson reveals six-word motto as he opens up on difficulties

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has admitted he has a six-word mantra brought about by his impatience as he confesses to struggling with electric cars in his latest Sunday Times column

Former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has confessed to a six-word mantra born out of his impatience, particularly when dealing with electric cars.

In his Sunday Times column, the seasoned motoring journalist admitted that he lacks the “have the mental capacity” to wait even 10 minutes for an electric car to charge.

He revealed that this impatience extends to his Sky box and even lifts without a button to close the doors immediately.

Jeremy further elaborated on his confusion regarding the workings of some electric cars, questioning why some models have two motors whilst others only have one, reports the Express.

The 65-year-old presenter stated: “And if I ever get in a lift that doesn’t have a button you can press to close the doors, I have what feels very like a coronary. I have a mantra: ‘Now. Or I can’t be bothered.'”

He continued: “Will a battery-powered Renault 5 save civilisation from itself ? I’m really not convinced it will. I also have no idea how such cars work.”

Adding to his bewilderment, he said: “Some, I’m led to believe, have two electric motors, one for the back wheels and one for those up front. And I cannot comprehend how this is possible.”

Jeremy’s frustration and confusion with modern electric vehicles come as he grapples with critical situations at his Diddly Squat farm.

Fans can expect more of his farming exploits when the popular Amazon Prime show Clarkson’s Farm returns for its fifth series in May.

However, the production of the sixth series faced setbacks due to adverse weather conditions and a bovine TB outbreak at the farm, which necessitated a shutdown of the area.

Adding to their concerns, Jeremy revealed that they are also dealing with a sick donkey on the farm.

In an episode of the My Week in Cars podcast, Jeremy candidly discussed the challenges at Diddly Squat. He stated: “There is no script to this TV show, people always go it’s staged but the pigs dying, Gerard’s cancer – you can’t stage any of it.”

He continued: “We’ve got a donkey that’s desperately ill at the moment, we’ve all got our fingers crossed that it makes it, but I don’t know, I can’t write a script saying ‘then it got better’ because you don’t know what the donkey’s going to do.”

Jeremy concluded by highlighting the unpredictability of their situation: “So you have to be ready to go – but you do spend an awful lot of time sitting around doom scrolling on your phone waiting for the weather to get better or for animals to do something.”
