Jeremy Clarkson to make major change at Cotswolds pub for 2026
Jeremy Clarkson is preparing to introduce a notable change at his Cotswolds pub in Oxfordshire as the venue looks ahead to 2026, following another year of intense public interest and demand.
The former Top Gear and The Grand Tour presenter bought the Windmill pub in Asthall for around £1 million in 2024, before embarking on an extensive renovation. After months of work, the venue reopened in August under its new name, The Farmer’s Dog, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about pubs in the region.
Located near Burford, the pub has drawn steady crowds over the past year, with fans of Clarkson’s Farm travelling from across the country to visit the site. The pub also featured prominently throughout the show’s most recent season, which was released on Amazon Prime in May and June, further boosting its profile and popularity.
Now, ahead of 2026, the team behind The Farmer’s Dog has confirmed a change to its seating arrangements, allowing a limited number of additional tables to be released for bookings. The update comes after January reservations once again sold out within minutes, overwhelming the pub’s booking system.
In a statement, the pub explained: “As you’ll know, when January bookings went live at the start of December, they disappeared at their usual, alarming speed, the internet groaned and the website briefly questioned its own existence. However, due to some recent changes to our table configuration, we’re able to release a small number of additional tables for January.”
The statement continued by describing the extra availability as “a festive bonus” and “a Christmas miracle,” while warning potential visitors not to delay, noting that the newly released tables are expected to be taken just as quickly as previous bookings.
The announcement is likely to be welcomed by fans who have struggled to secure a table since the pub opened, with demand remaining consistently high throughout 2024 and 2025.
Looking further ahead, Clarkson’s farming series is set to return next year, with season five expected to feature the pub once again across its eight new episodes. With renewed interest from the show and ongoing adjustments behind the scenes, The Farmer’s Dog appears set to remain a central part of Clarkson’s growing Cotswolds venture well into 2026.
