Jeremy Clarkson’s ‘awful’ update as he reveals another blow hours after Diddly Squat farm TB outbreak

The TV star has revealed he suffered another blow just hours after his farm was hit with an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis

Jeremy Clarkson has said ‘it’s awful’ as he revealed he suffered another blow hours after his farm was hit with an outbreak of TB.

On Thursday (July 31), the TV star said he and his team were “absolutely devastated” after bovine tuberculosis was confirmed at his Diddly Squat Farm.

The outbreak on the 65-year-old’s land in Oxfordshire, which features in hit Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm, has forced the culling of cattle including an unborn pair of calves.

Broadcaster and farmer Jeremy revealed the outbreak on social media, posting: “Bad news from Diddly Squat. We’ve gone down with TB. Everyone here is absolutely devastated.”

Jeremy added: “The offending animal is pregnant with twins. I should clear this up really. It’s Bovine TB that we have. It doesn’t affect people, just our poor cows.”

Jeremy, best known for presenting Top Gear and Clarkson’s Farm, confirmed the news shortly before a second round of testing.

The disease, which is caused by Mycobacterium bovis, requires the immediate slaughter of infected animals to prevent its spread. Government data shows that more than 21,000 cattle were culled in England between April 2024 and March 2025 due to TB incidents.

Now, Jeremy has revealed that one of his puppies has also died, with him confirming the tragic loss of his beloved pooch on Friday (August 1) after the “devastating news” of the outbreak yesterday.

Speaking on Times Radio today, The Sun reports that Jeremy said: “It’s awful, it is awful. You have a test every six months on the cows and then you sort of become blasé, it’s a hypothetical threat.

“And then the vet looks up as he did yesterday lunchtime and said ‘I’m really sorry this one’s failed’. So that means we’re now locked down and it’s just dreadful, absolutely dreadful. It’s only been not even 24 hours since I found out and it occupies my mind.

“Well it was occupying my mind but I got up this morning and found one of my puppies has died. And we’ve got a very sickly calf. Honestly, farming? I’m not enjoying it this week.”

Jeremy also shared that the farm will be closed for “certainly two months because that’s how long we have to wait before we do another test” but said that the farm shop was unaffected as “it’s only cows that get affected by it”.

It comes days after Kaleb Cooper announced more bad news, confirming that thieves had made off with his farm machinery including one of his tractors and a post knocker, for driving fence posts into the ground.

He posted on social media earlier this week: “My post knocker was stolen last night, as well as the John Deere tractor. Can we please make this as hot as possible? What is going on with England at the moment?”
