Jeremy Clarkson’s replacement confirmed as The Grand Tour announces major return

Rock music legend Rod Stewart has been humorously urged by fans to lend a hand to Jeremy Clarkson after ongoing concerns were raised about road conditions near the filming location of Clarkson’s Farm in the Cotswolds.

The former Top Gear and The Grand Tour presenter purchased Curdle Hill Farm in Chadlington back in 2008, later renaming it Diddly Squat Farm. Located just north of Chipping Norton, the farm has become the primary filming site for all four series of Clarkson’s Farm, with a fifth season of the Prime Video programme already confirmed.

As the show’s popularity has grown, the area has seen a significant increase in visitors, with fans travelling from across the UK and overseas to sample Hawkstone beer and experience the countryside made famous by the series. For those seeking a deeper immersion, tours are also available at the Hawkstone Brewery, located just over the county border.

During a recent visit to the brewery, one fan shared her experience on the social media platform X, praising the attraction while raising a practical concern. Posting a photograph of a damaged road surface, she wrote: “Come on Jezza, sort these potholes out. Apart from that, an amazing visit to Hawkstone Brewery.”

Clarkson spotted the post and replied simply: “I hear you,” acknowledging the issue without offering further detail.

The exchange quickly drew attention from other fans, many of whom responded with jokes and light-hearted suggestions. One commenter proposed an unconventional solution, urging Clarkson to “give Rod Stewart a call.”

The remark referenced a widely reported incident from 2022, when Sir Rod famously filled in potholes near his home in Harlow, Essex, after becoming increasingly frustrated with road conditions that were damaging vehicles — including his own Ferrari. The singer’s hands-on approach earned widespread praise at the time and has since become a recurring reference point whenever road maintenance issues surface online.

While the suggestion was clearly made in jest, it highlighted the growing pressure on rural infrastructure as tourism linked to popular television shows continues to rise — an issue Clarkson himself has frequently highlighted through Clarkson’s Farm.

Whether or not Sir Rod will ever be drafted in, the pothole debate has once again placed the realities of rural life firmly back in the public conversation.
