Jeremy Clarkson’s replacement confirmed as The Grand Tour announces major return
The Grand Tour is returning to Prime Video with new hosts, following Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s final episode
The Grand Tour is set to return to Prime Video after a lengthy hiatus, but with a significant shake-up.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May will no longer be presenting the programme, following earlier confirmation of their exit, reports the Mirror.
The iconic trio were last spotted in 2024’s episode One for the Road, concluding with their memorable drive into the Botswana sunset.
That episode brought the curtain down on the threesome’s remarkable 22-year partnership.
Clarkson, Hammond and May enjoyed quite the journey, having originally presented Top Gear on the BBC before departing amidst considerable controversy, subsequently being snapped up by Prime Video, where their motoring programme proved enormously popular.
Prime Video has now announced that railway enthusiast and closet car fanatic Francis Bourgeois, together with YouTubers James Engelsman and Thomas Holland from the highly successful Throttle House channel, will helm The Grand Tour moving forward.
The fresh-faced trio will front six new episodes as they travel around the world.
Discussing his new role, Bourgeois commented: “The saying ‘big shoes to fill’ springs to mind.”
He added: “Well, in this case, it’ll be like Mo Farah running in size 14 wellies – it’ll be a little awkward at first, perhaps blister-inducing, but will overall be an interesting watch.”
Meanwhile, co-presenter Holland remarked, “When I first heard they were rebooting The Grand Tour and replacing Clarkson, Hammond, and May, I said, ‘ Only a moron would take that job’.”
The Grand Tour holds the title of Prime Video’s most-watched unscripted UK Original series worldwide.
Following the conclusion of The Grand Tour, Clarkson has remained occupied with his other successful Prime Video programme, Clarkson’s Farm, having recently finished filming the fifth series.
The fourth series of Clarkson’s Farm proved enormously popular, drawing an average of 4.4 million viewers per episode in 2025.
In the meantime, Hammond presents his own programme, Richard Hammond’s Workshop, which centres on vehicle restoration close to his residence as he attempts to expand his enterprise.
May has also kept himself occupied with his own programme, James May’s Shed Load Of Ideas, which debuted last year and features him tackling Britain’s most irritating problems with clever inventions.
