Jeremy Clarkson’s ‘separate ways’ comment as he gives insight into life with partner Lisa

Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy Clarkson shared how he and his partner Lisa Hogan keep the spark alive while working together, eight years into their romance

Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about working with his partner Lisa Hogan on the popular Prime Video series, Clarkson’s Farm.

The 65-year-old presenter is four seasons into the show, which sees him getting to grips with life on his Diddly Squat Farm, with the help of his sidekick Kaleb Cooper, 26.

Also a part of the show is Lisa, 52, who is often seen working at the farm shop.

Discussing the series, Jeremy insisted he particularly liked filming the show as it allows him to be himself.

“It’s the real me on the farm show,” he commented. “There’s no Top Gear nonsense. It’s much more relaxing not to play a part.”

Discussing his and Lisa’s working dynamic, he added to The Telegraph: “It’s all good. It’s not like we’re doing the same thing all the time.

“I think it’s a happy way to live, to have breakfast together, go our separate ways, and then you’ve got plenty to talk about in the evening.”

This set-up, he claims, keeps their conversations lively.

“You can go out for dinner and you don’t sit like normal old people, not talking to each other,” he explained.

The couple, who met through friends at a party, have been together for eight years.

Despite their strong bond, Lisa said she has no desire to change her surname or have children with the presenter.

In an interview with Fabulous magazine in 2022, she stated firmly: “Mrs Clarkson? No, thank you, I like Lisa Hogan.

“We’re at a stage where we are not going to have kids,” confirming their contentment with life as it stands.

“I’m just happy pootling along. I think because of our age, it’s much easier. You go, ‘God, is it you I end up with? OK, that’s it’.”

Jeremy has been married twice before, firstly to Alexandra James from 1989 to 1990, followed by Frances Cain, with whom he has three children; Frances: Emily, 30, Finlo, 27, and Katya, 24.

Lisa also has three children from her thirty-year marriage to millionaire businessman Baron Steven Bentinck.

The former actress revealed that it took her a while to make things official with Jeremy, as she wanted to make sure he had good intentions.

“We’d both come out of quite long-term relationships, and I was really happy being single,” she shared.

“So I was like, ‘If I’m not going to be single any more, I don’t want to be with a messer’.

“There was [a moment]. I had given myself three months, but it was way before that, where I thought, ‘OK, I really like this person’.”

Lisa went on to say that her partner “has a laser brain and will take you down”, adding: “And that’s where the fun and the challenge is with him, trying to take him down.”
