Jeremy Clarkson’s Surprise Career Shake-Up Just Weeks After Painful Hospital Scare
Jeremy Clarkson has taken a significant new step in his career just weeks after revealing he had endured a “painful” and unexpected hospital visit.
The 65-year-old presenter, best known for his work on Top Gear and The Grand Tour, has remained a dominant presence on television, with the most recent series of Clarkson’s Farm captivating audiences earlier this year. However, Clarkson’s life off-camera has been less smooth recently, as he candidly shared details of a sudden health scare that left fans concerned.
In a column for The Sunday Times last month, Clarkson explained that he had been rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he underwent what he described as an excruciating treatment. “The treatment was Defcon 1 painful,” he wrote, saying doctors practically had to “peel [him] off the ceiling with a spatula” afterwards. He also revealed that he was required to stay overnight for observation. Despite the ordeal, Clarkson chose not to disclose the exact medical issue, bluntly telling readers, “I’m not going to tell you what was wrong, because that’s none of your business.”
The incident followed earlier comments in which Clarkson criticised the National Health Service, calling it a “creaking monster”—yet he still praised the frontline staff who treated him, saying the care he personally received had been excellent.
Now, in a development first highlighted by Wales Online and reported by The Mirror, Clarkson appears to be using his recent health scare as inspiration for a fresh business venture. According to newly filed documents at Companies House, he has registered a company named Still Breathing, an apparent nod to his recovery and characteristic dark humour. The firm, incorporated on October 22, is officially listed under the category of “security dealing on own account,” though the exact purpose and activities of the business remain unclear.
Meanwhile, fans of Clarkson’s Farm have something else to look forward to. Filming for Series 5 officially wrapped at the end of September, marking another milestone in Clarkson’s farming journey at Diddly Squat. Although Amazon has not yet announced a release date, previous seasons have typically launched in the spring—suggesting viewers may see the next instalment in early 2026.
In typical Clarkson fashion, the presenter seems to be juggling recovery, business expansion, and television commitments all at once—proving he is, indeed, still breathing and still very much moving forward.
